Suncheon Bay National Garden Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Many gardens in one
The Suncheon Nation Garden is composed of many different gardens that were inspired by many regions of the world. when going there I was not expecting to see so many different types of vegetations and garden designs, but I was gladly surprise. There is also a cable car that you can take, but be aware of the time it ends. I wasn’t able to take the cable car as I got there too late.
Flower Power at Suncheon Bay National Garden
#cherryblossom2024
After visiting Suncheon Bay National Garden you realise why it's a top destination to visit into Suncheon! A leisurely stroll around the lovely blooms in the park is bound to uplift your spirit and bring a smile to your face!
🌷 The floral display at Suncheon Bay National Garden depends on the season, when we went in the Spring it was a tulip bonanza. You can see lovely cherry blossom trees flanking the river, but the main star inside the garden is really the multitude of tulips in every colour imaginable.
🌄 One of the highlights of the Garden is the series of landscaped hills in the centre, by the lake. As you wind your way up and around the hill you're greeted by others also making the same meditative walk, it's really relaxing somehow...
🚝 The Garden is conveniently connected to Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve, which is the other star destination in Suncheon to visit. The journey takes about 10minutes and is a scenic monorail ride along the river, highly recommend!

From spring to winter, head to Suncheon!!!
I visited the Suncheon Bay National Garden in spring!!!
From cherry blossoms🌸 to tulips🌷
And the soon-to-arrive green sprouts of summer🌱🌿☘️🍀
The vast space is great for taking pictures leisurely even when it's crowded, and with attractions like the SkyCube, reed train, and ecological experience boat, a day is hardly enough. I'm looking forward to seeing how the garden transforms this summer!!!

Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve
#koreatrip Beautiful spot that's well worth the entrance fee. lots of walking in the bay but its worth it. There is a shuttle to Sucheon National garden, Sky cube. Awesome! Sky cube is a electric mini rail like personal taxi built across the rice field. The view from the sky cube is just amazing. There is a ferry runs through the bay. Highly recommend! Would come back again!

Seonamsa Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Spiritual Seonamsa, scenic serenity in Suncheon
#cherryblossom2024
Chogyesan Seonamsa is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Suncheon and dates back thousands of years. Its first incarnation was built about 1500 years ago and it was expanded in the year 861 into a larger grand temple.
🚶♀️ Getting to the temple does take a bit of a walk, about 15 to 20 minutes upslope. It is quite manageable even for the elderly and the beautiful natural scenery around the temple grounds provide a wonderful environment for a meditative walk.
🌳 The grounds are home to many trees that are hundreds of years old, there is a large cypress tree and plum tree in particular which are protected treasures. Another national treasure you can find is also one of the oldest wooden lavatories in Korea, a large single eaved structure with stalls for men and women on the sides.
During the lead up to Buddha's birthday in the spring time, you'll be warmly greeted by the colourful lanterns celebrating the occasion. There is also another temple on the other side of the mountain, and it is possible to trek between the two temples though it would take several hours so it's best to start early in the morning if you plan to make the hike.
At the entrance to the temple complex, there is a small tearoom where you can have a little rest and soak up more of the lovely scenery before you go.

The hike to the temple compound in fall brings serenity and peace to oneself.
The Seonamsa Temple was built in the 6th century at the Mt. Jogyesan. It is famous for the arched-stone bridge and also for being World UNESCO heritage site.
There are many Korean artifacts and Korean treasures kept here too. If you are around Suncheon area, it is a must to visit this temple.

Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Beautiful reed fields and awesome sunset
Suncheonman Bay Wetland Reserve covers a huge area of more than 400,000m2.
It is famous for its reed fields that are taller than a grown adult. This Wetland Reserve is also famous as a natural habitat doe birds during migratory months.
Overall, I would recommend to visit here if you are someone who enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature. You can even hike all the way up to the observatory where you will be able to catch a beautiful sunset.
