We checked in around 8:30-9:00 PM on June 7, 2026. The staff member at reception was incredibly kind and helpful, which made for a great start to our stay. The hot water worked perfectly, the breakfast was excellent, and the hotel's location, just a short walk to the sea, was fantastic. They have a swimming pool that didn't smell strongly of chlorine, and it's about 1 to 1.85m deep. There's also a hot spa right next to it with wonderfully warm water. I'd definitely want to come back! Just a heads-up: you'll need to buy your own bottled water when you check in, as none is provided in the room.

I booked two hotels on the Southbank of the Yarra River this time. First, let's talk about Crown Towers, which is located on the western side. My first impression was its luxury. It's connected to a casino and surrounded by high-end luxury stores, with a grand lobby. My second impression was how friendly it is to Chinese guests; all the elevator buttons have both Chinese and English annotations, and there were many festive elements for Chinese New Year. The room faced the Yarra River, offering a nice view, and there were various restaurants downstairs, making dining convenient.
Walking west from the hotel, away from the bustling Flinders Street Station, I experienced the quiet and less crowded Yarra River after an evening rain. It was then that I truly understood why Melbourne has been repeatedly voted the world's most livable city. It was a refreshing and comfortable feeling that made me exclaim, 'Life can truly be this wonderful!'
If you have ample time, I highly recommend staying a night by the Yarra River. I suggest booking a hotel on the western side; though the location might be slightly more secluded, it offers a convenient way to experience the Yarra River away from the city's hustle and bustle.
Like Sydney's Crown Towers, Melbourne's Crown Towers is also lively and a bit flamboyant. This doesn't quite align with the quiet and understated elegance typically associated with luxury hotels, but perhaps that's why its high price offers good value for money. The pool was crowded in the evening but wonderfully empty in the morning for a great swim.
Additionally, it's very close to DFO South Wharf (Melbourne's largest outlet mall). We didn't know this at the time and ended up taking a taxi from our subsequent hotel near the University of Melbourne. If we had known, it would have been much more convenient to just stroll over from here.

We recently stayed at the Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne and had a wonderful experience. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping and public transport.
The hotel itself had a great blend of character and comfort, with beautifully maintained rooms and welcoming common areas. The staff were friendly, professional and always happy to assist, making our stay feel relaxed and enjoyable from check-in to departure.
Overall, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable short stay, and we would happily return again in the future. Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Melbourne.
We stayed there one night as we have booked the hot air balloon flight. Thus, didnt have much opportunity to use any facility except the restaurant. We had dinner there and food and wine were great. However, we noticed that some staff werent paying much attention to asian guests. While serving the food up to western guest, the staff was introducing the food in details but not to us. Furthermore, it took a long while to get our desserts.
We had a wonderful one-night stay at the RACV Goldfields Resort this past weekend. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful — they really made us feel at home. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with stunning grounds that are perfect for a peaceful walk or simply taking in the scenery.
Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout. The facilities are excellent — from the relaxing outdoor areas to the well-equipped amenities, everything felt top-notch. Although our stay was short, it was the perfect little escape, and we left feeling refreshed.
This 'Instagrammable' hotel definitely lives up to its hype! Even though there wasn't any staff present, we arrived at 8 PM and the fireplace was already lit, which was so cozy. Considering its natural setting, the cleanliness was quite good. Just a heads-up: they don't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, so be sure to bring your own. We actually had to go to the town's supermarket to buy some.
Absolutely recommend. Such an amazing relaxing experience. Jacuzzi/spa so clean and relaxing. Fireplace was beautiful
We had an amazing cooked dinner steak salad. Fully recommend. Stay unwind. Cooking facilities are amazing
Thankyou so much Mark and Lee

My stay here was excellent! The front desk staff were very responsive, and my room was spotless with no odd smells. The bedding was super comfortable. I was really impressed with the soundproofing – it was so quiet! The shower had great water pressure too. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and the service staff were all very friendly. The only minor downside was that the gym had limited equipment. Overall, it's great value for money and I'd highly recommend it for business travelers.

Whenever I'm in Australia and unsure where to stay, Meriton is my no-brainer choice. This one is located in the CBD, just a short walk from Southern Cross Station. Getting to the city center for food and shopping is easy, either on foot or by tram. It's also close to various meeting points for day tours. The room was clean, hygienic, and well-equipped. If I needed anything, I could just scan a QR code and request it online. The peppermint tea in the room was so good I asked for two more sachets, and they ended up giving me the whole remaining box, haha, made my day! You do have to take your own trash to the garbage room, and there's a floor plan on the back of the door showing you where it is.
Very big room, nice views of the mountains, lovely spa big enough for two people, bed was firm and clean.
Note property uses rain water and water from tap not drinkable maybe.
There is instant tea and coffee provided and 1 litre of water. Might need to bring your own extra water.
There was a pool and spa in separate building. Didn't use as was 32 degrees day and more comfortabl in air cond room with own private spa.
Very Good
