An absolute haven for weary travelers! From the moment I arrived, the exceptional care and attention to detail from the staff completely melted away the exhaustion of a long journey.
Check-in was seamless, and I was warmly greeted with thoughtful welcome gifts, along with a wonderful selection of complimentary snacks and refreshing drinks that instantly revived me. The hospitality didn’t stop there—having access to discounted meals at the on-site dining made unwinding after a long day effortless and comforting.
The room itself was immaculately clean, wonderfully quiet, and featured a bed that provided the most restorative sleep I’ve had in weeks. Every amenity felt tailored for ultimate relaxation and comfort.
What truly sets this accommodation apart, however, is the outstanding management and service team. The service manager provided clear, prompt, and helpful information throughout my stay, and any minor feedback I shared was acknowledged and acted upon almost immediately. It’s rare to find a place that combines such high standards of cleanliness with genuine, proactive hospitality that genuinely looks after the wellbeing of its guests.
I cannot recommend this place enough and am already looking forward to my next stay!

Xiaoliyaoshoudao90jinFirst of all, the hotel's location is excellent, right next to the ticket gate, and across the street from the core temple complex of Jiuhua Mountain. The temples are just steps away, making worshipping Buddha incredibly convenient! There's a direct bus to Huatai right outside the hotel, and the shuttle bus stop is just a minute or two's walk uphill, making it perfect for families with children and elderly members—no walking required.
I must commend the hotel front desk staff on the morning of May 4th. When I checked out that morning, I left my jacket with my car keys in my room. I had already boarded the shuttle bus to Huatai, so I immediately called the front desk. The staff promptly went to my room, found my jacket and car keys, and placed them on the next shuttle bus to Huatai. I'm so grateful!!!

Guest UserThe vibe here is truly special! The owners put so much heart into running this place. The rooms are spotless, and the moment you step in, you just feel completely relaxed. In the evenings, they invite everyone to the lobby for tea and conversation, serving delicious tea snacks and fresh fruit. For two days straight, they gave complimentary special drinks to the kids and homemade millet wine to the adults. It felt just like visiting a friend's house, and the kids absolutely loved it. All the food was fantastic – purely handmade and organic. The water they served was mountain spring water, and the air was so fresh. On our last day, we joined the owner for a sunrise trip to the tea mountain. The sea of clouds was breathtaking, and it was wonderfully cool. I highly recommend this guesthouse for its warm hospitality. I'll definitely be back with my girlfriends next time. Wishing the owners all the best with their business, and a big thank you to all the staff for two days of thoughtful care! ^_^

BuhuifeidebaoThe hotel environment is excellent, and the rooms are very comfortable. They provided 3 complimentary breakfasts, which were also very rich. For dinner, we ordered à la carte noodles and fried rice; I highly recommend the noodles, a large bowl and delicious. There was also a performance in the evening, which created a great atmosphere.
For families with children visiting Huangshan, I recommend a two-day trip staying on the mountain. It's less crowded and less tiring. On the first day, we entered via the Yungu cable car around 10 AM, explored the back mountain, and rested at the Xihai Hotel at noon. In the afternoon, we hiked the first loop of the West Sea Grand Canyon, then returned for dinner, and later went to Danxia Peak to watch the sunset.
On the second day, we watched the sunrise, had a good breakfast, and then went to Bright Summit and Greeting Pine before descending via the Yuping cable car. There weren't many people along the way, and the intensity was moderate.

Guest UserThis guesthouse is located right inside the scenic area, making it super convenient for resting after an evening stroll. The decor is charmingly traditional, perfectly complementing the Huizhou architectural style. The guesthouse itself feels like an integral part of the scenic area, featuring a garden restaurant and a coffee bar where you can even pet cats. The owner is fantastic, offering luggage pickup and drop-off services right from the bus station. It's a highly recommended place to stay.

For Chinese travellers, please disregard this review! However for foreign travellers to Huangshan BEWARE of any hotel in the scenic area, such as Shilin! The Trip website does not give information as to how it is possible to get to the hotel, causing me to lose what I paid for a room - not inconsiderable! It is NOT POSSIBLE to reach the hotel by car. Instead, you must get on the Yungu cable car (1 hour bus from Tangkou town) and hike around 1.5hours to the hotel. Please leave a whole day to reach the hotel. The English version of the listing even suggested to me that taking a taxi to the hotel front door was possible, which it was not. Due to a delayed train from Hangzhou, I missed the last bus to the Scenic area and was forced to rebook accommodation, no refund (although I didn’t argue for one, in fairness). I hate to leave such a bad review on a hotel I didn’t stay at: I’m sure, if you can speak Chinese and communicate with the staff to find out access times etc., then the Shilin Hotel offers spectacular hiking opportunities in this astoundingly beautiful site. However, again, as a foreigner please leave ample time to reach any hotel in the scenic area, make sure you reach the cable car well before 3:30 and pack VERY LIGHT. I would say at least that the staff tried their best to help when I called, given it’s unreasonable for me to expect them to speak English, but given the actively misleading listing on trip I’m forced to leave this bad review.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, purely because of its location. For its spot, the amenities still offer great value for money. However, this time I booked a king room and was given one facing the street. My much-anticipated holiday, a relaxing mountain escape in southern Anhui, was ruined by a night of noise. I understand that the Yellow Mountain entrance/exit sees a lot of traffic, but the reality is I didn't sleep a wink. I'd suggest upgrading the windows on the street-facing side to high-standard, soundproof ones – it would make a real difference. The breakfast selection also seemed a bit limited. Overall though, it's still consistently good and remains one of the top-tier options in this town. These are my honest thoughts, hope they're helpful.

My stay at Banyan Tree Huangshan was fantastic! I booked two packages for the Luyuan King Room and stayed for six days, and every day was a joy. All the staff here were excellent. First, I was assigned a butler named Amy, who provided warm and thoughtful service. She sent me WeChat updates on all the hotel's activities and told me to let her know if I needed anything at any time. It felt very considerate. The environment is also beyond praise; it's very close to Lucun Village, and the views from the balcony and the hotel lobby are simply stunning. It felt like I didn't even need to leave the hotel to experience the beauty of Huizhou. The hotel offers a rich variety of activities, like the fish lantern parade and the close-up experience of iron flower making, which were brilliant. My child also participated in various pastry-making sessions. The chefs were wonderful; we joined three times, and each time the师傅 (master/chef) was great with both kids and adults. The pastries we made were truly delicious. The only downside was the room where we made pastries; it might be too close to the outside, as it was a bit warm. I hope they can improve that. The housekeeping and valet staff were also exceptionally courteous and provided thorough service. All in all, my trip to Banyan Tree Huangshan was absolutely delightful!

I decided to visit Huangshan at the last minute and hadn't booked anything. I initially thought this place was too expensive and wanted to skip it, but I'm so glad I booked Shuguangli. They provided adult tickets for the cable car for free and even helped me book tickets for the kids. That was a big plus! The private shuttle service was also excellent; we didn't have to queue for the scenic bus, and we even got to use the VIP lane for the mountain cable car.
