Anonymous UserRight outside the door is a lovely beach, lively but not overwhelmingly so. The weather and air quality were great, putting me in a fantastic mood. The service was attentive, and both the facilities and cleanliness were very good. I'll definitely be back next year.

Posted on Aug 24, 2026|Deluxe Balcony Seaview Twin
Miss MermaidWhen I was planning my trip to Qinhuangdao, I looked at a lot of hotels and finally decided on the Shangri-La because of its prime location in the city, making it convenient to get around. The most crucial factor was its balcony sea view rooms, which offer an expansive view of the entire ocean – unlike many other hotels where you can only glimpse the sea from afar. Many people had given it lower ratings, so I was prepared for that before checking in. However, since I prioritize sea views over hardware, my actual stay exceeded expectations. Communication with the front desk was smooth, and they were able to accommodate most of my requests. Of course, the facilities are indeed quite old; the toilet isn't smart, and the curtains don't have automatic switches, making them a bit stiff to open. But these minor flaws don't overshadow the positives. During the peak travel season of July and August, the package deal on Ctrip was still very cost-effective. Overall, I'm quite satisfied.

The hotel environment is decent, and it's pet-friendly with good service. The showerhead in the bathroom seems a bit old, but the water pressure is still okay. The wet and dry separation is a plus. We got a free upgrade to a sea-view room, which was nice. There are charging stations downstairs, which is convenient, though charging is a bit pricey at 1.55/kWh. I'd recommend coming back early if you go out at night, otherwise, you might not find a parking spot and have to park on the street in front of the hotel. It's not too far from the Coastal Market, so you can take a leisurely stroll there if you don't mind the walk. Watching the sunrise in the morning is quite lovely. The area around the hotel is a bit desolate, so you'll have to eat breakfast at the hotel. The buffet breakfast is 28 per person and offers a good variety.

Guest UserThe hotel staff were incredibly dedicated. They called us a few days in advance to confirm our itinerary, and on the day of check-in, since we were arriving late, the front desk called again to check on our arrival plans. They even upgraded our reserved Deluxe Twin Room to the 11th floor. The room was huge and super clean, with plenty of charging outlets. The minibar even had complimentary drinks! The bedding was high quality and the mattress was comfortable. The 1.35-meter single beds didn't feel cramped even for two people. In the morning, you could open the curtains and see the calm sea. The breakfast selection was also quite rich. It was a truly high-quality stay.

Guest UserIs everyone flocking to Beidaihe to escape the summer heat? It was scorching! At 10:30 AM, it was already 36 degrees Celsius outside, and the tide was out, so we couldn't even go crabbing. It's hard to book a last-minute hotel in a crowded Beidaihe. I saw reviews mentioning old facilities but had no choice but to book it. Honestly, with that expectation, it wasn't too bad. After all, the hotel is 20 years old, so maintaining it like this isn't easy.
Avoid Building No. 3. The elevator constantly breaks down, which is terrifying. It was under repair when we arrived, so we had to climb the stairs, and it broke again the next day. When I reported it to the front desk, they seemed completely unconcerned, as if they were used to it. From 6 AM to 8:30 AM, there was a vibrating noise throughout the building. I thought it was a construction site, but when I asked the front desk, they said it was the kitchen machines running for breakfast. All I can do is commend their 'excellence' – I'm out of words.
The hotel breakfast costs 38 yuan per person. If your room rate includes breakfast, you'll eat it and be speechless. For those who didn't book with breakfast, don't waste your money. It's even worse than a farmhouse breakfast – there's nothing, not even fried rice or noodles. I heard it's not even run by the hotel but by a partner. I saw customers arguing because the breakfast vouchers given by the hotel weren't enough, and they were counting heads, which didn't match up. These are all avoidable issues.
The staff don't wear name tags, so I don't know anyone's name. If I wanted to praise someone, I wouldn't know who to mention. Overall, some service was decent. However, the security was lacking; there was no one directing parking, and no designated spots. Everyone just parked wherever they could find space. I can understand, though; it's tough for anyone in nearly 40-degree heat under the blazing sun. If there are other hotels you can book, go elsewhere. The only selling point is the small, unkempt patch of beach and rocks downstairs; there's really nothing else.

Guest UserThis is our go-to hotel every year. It's really easy to find, and this year we happened to check in right on my child's birthday! The hotel even gave us a birthday cake. The buffet downstairs is also very rich and varied! We'll definitely be back again next year!

Anonymous UserThe room has a European style, bright and clean, with a separate wet and dry bathroom. You can see the sea right outside the window, and it's only about 20 meters down to the beach from the side of the building, very close to the hotel. The breakfast selection is rich. We arrived around noon, and there's also a hotel restaurant nearby where you can eat at any time. There's also a dinner buffet with mini hot pot and a wide variety of seafood, including all-you-can-eat oysters. Many dining tables offer sea views, which is very relaxing. Next door is the 'Qin Huang Seeking Immortality at Sea' attraction, and it's only about 800 meters from Xigang Garden. A morning stroll on the beach is very pleasant. They also offer complimentary fruit, free coffee vouchers, and dining discount coupons.

Guest UserRegarding service: The hotel butler was responsive and had a great attitude! However, some of the amusement park rides within the complex were chaotic and largely unmanaged (for example, at the rafting queue, staff would only symbolically ask people to queue, but without actual management, everyone just scrambled for rubber rings). Also, getting around between accommodations wasn't very convenient, with a lot of detours.
Regarding facilities: The amusement facilities themselves were quite good.
Regarding cleanliness and environment: Given the large crowds during the summer, some aspects of the environment and cleanliness weren't perfectly maintained, which is understandable. Overall, it was still decent. We stayed in a room in the hot spring area, and I saw them genuinely changing the water in the pools at night. In the morning, the hot spring water was very clean!
Other notes: It was incredibly crowded, and a bit disorganized (Qilihai is much better managed). The overall experience was just so-so. I suggest the hotel optimize its management to improve the guest experience.

betty5113Changling Yudao Resort Family Trip – A Real Experience
From May 31st to June 1st, our family of three visited Changling Yudao Resort in Nandaihe. Overall, the value for money was excellent, making it perfect for short trips with kids. Here's a full breakdown of our stay and activities:
**1. Super Affordable Package Price**
We purchased an all-inclusive package for just over 600 RMB, which included accommodation, breakfast for three, and a full entertainment pass for the park, including the hot springs. The pricing was incredibly fair and didn't feel inflated at all, making it very family-friendly.
**2. Rich Park Entertainment, Tons of Free Activities**
All basic attractions within the park – like the mini-train, sightseeing buggies, boat rides, and Ferris wheel – were free. Plus, there were continuous special performances:
* **Stunt Stage Show:** Impressive scale with amazing sound and light effects, providing an excellent visual experience.
* **Stunt Car Show:** Thrilling and exciting, with fantastic sound, light, and electric effects creating an immersive atmosphere.
* **'Chi Wen Jiu Jiu' Bubble Event:** An immersive bubble ocean that the kids absolutely loved.
* **Exclusive 'Silver Tickets' from the hotel:** We used these for traditional games like ring toss, beanbag toss, and 'touhu' (pitch-pot), winning more 'silver tickets' to exchange for other activities. It was a lot of fun!
* **Petting Zoo:** Perfect for kids who love small animals.
* **Brand New Water Park (opened June 1st):** Featured a full range of water activities, as well as outdoor fun like big grass slides. The variety of activities was impressive.
**3. Clean and Comfortable Accommodation, Exceptionally Warm Service**
The guest rooms were neat and clean, and we even received complimentary fruit upon check-in – thoughtful details that made a difference. After a full day of playing, the park's sightseeing buggies were incredibly convenient; you just waved, and they stopped for you.
We happened to meet the hotel's Deputy Sales Director, who actively asked for our feedback on accommodation, entertainment, and dining, and even gave us a thoughtful small gift. Although the hotel's standard checkout time was 12 PM, the kind sales staff extended it to 1 PM for us, showing great flexibility and understanding.
**4. Excellent Pre-Arrival Service, Smooth Entry Process**
The day before our arrival, a sales representative proactively contacted us via WeChat to confirm our itinerary and accommodation details. They also helped us arrange entry QR codes in advance, saving us from queuing at the entrance. The entire entry process was smooth and hassle-free, and the sales staff was enthusiastic and responsible.
**5. Reasonable Dining Prices**
The prices within the park were very reasonable, without much markup.
The free buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including various hot stir-fried dishes, with both taste and selection being excellent.
**6. Hot Spring Environment**
The hot springs are divided into indoor and outdoor areas, with over a dozen pools of varying temperatures, so you're sure to find one that suits you. There were many service staff diligently cleaning and even helping to look for children. Near the water, staff constantly reminded children to wear swimming caps and to be careful not to jump in, ensuring safety. The environment was also excellent.
Overall, Yudao Resort offers a wealth of activities, thoughtful service, and affordable prices. It's incredibly family-friendly and highly recommended for families planning a short getaway with their children.

Anonymous UserThis hotel is right by the sea, offering an elegant, clean, and comfortable environment. It consists mainly of one-to-three-story old detached buildings, giving it a charmingly nostalgic feel. These buildings are scattered across a large, tree-shaded estate with undulating terrain, which further enhances the relaxed atmosphere. It's truly unique and perfect for those who appreciate a sense of history. Especially noteworthy are the rooms with balconies; the balcony space is surprisingly generous, far exceeding expectations. Equipped with two rattan chairs and a coffee table, it faces the ocean, allowing you to enjoy the sea breeze while sipping tea or simply relaxing – an absolutely delightful and picturesque experience.
The hotel also has its own private beach access, with entry by pass. You can change into your swimwear in your room, step right out onto the beach, and then head back to your room for a shower after swimming, without having to wait in line. It's incredibly convenient.
While some facilities are a bit dated, they certainly don't lack quality, and the attention to detail is impressive. For instance, the screen doors have soft-close hinges, gently closing to keep insects out, and the small windows on the doors come with screens, offering ventilation and mosquito protection. The hot water flow is strong and almost instant, and the Panasonic air conditioning system provides powerful and precise cooling, among many other thoughtful touches.
Overall, this was an extremely satisfying stay, and this hotel will be my first choice for any future visits to Beidaihe.
