Great
GGuest UserThe hotel facility is excellent and perfectly clean with a high-class traditional japanese service standard. Our room was a deluxe room with private hot spring tub. It's a little pricy while I think it's perfect to celebrate the anniversary with my wife. Dinner and breakfast were good, while it may not be the best comparing with other hotels in the major cities. The sightseeing points are also within 5-10 mins driving distance from the hotel. We expected to watch the sunset at the balcony, while on that day the weather was a bit cloudy so we didn't take a nice photo here.
GGuest UserThe hotel is quiet and private, with complete facilities and enthusiastic, professional staff. We came during the off-season, so the price was very reasonable. Since we had to catch the earliest JR to the airport the next day, which was around 6 AM, the staff enthusiastically and actively helped me arrange transportation. It was indeed very early, making it difficult to find a taxi, so in the end, the hotel's car took us to the JR station. It was a truly heartwarming experience during our trip. Thank you very much!
AAnonymous UserThe room was very spacious and had no strange smells. The hotel staff even helped move our stored luggage into the room and provided complimentary snacks and water, which was a very thoughtful touch! The TV showed the occupancy of various public areas, which was super considerate. The hot springs were also very comfortable, with good ambiance and cleanliness. After a dip, they offered popsicles, which was a nice treat. There were two large bookshelves nearby where you could pick out your favorite manga to read, and right outside was the massage chair area – absolutely perfect! In the evening, they offered free late-night noodles that were quite tasty, and there was a self-service drink bar. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of choices, and I even got to try local specialty sushi, which was a unique experience. There was an electronic scale at the stairwell for weighing luggage, which was very convenient. I'd love to visit again if I get the chance!
LLynn hkThe hotel is easy to find with a parking garage connecting to it. Check in was fast and hotel staff was helpful with good English. Parking is 800 yen for hotel guests for 24 hours. The room is nice and beddings are comfortable. Their sky spa is small but functional with an indoor, outdoor onsen and a steam sauna. It could get crowded if there are more than 2-3 people given so compact. The mall downstairs have a few restaurants, a supermarket, a bookstore and a public library which is convenient. The hotel does not provide much amenities which I was a bit disappointed. Overall still a good hotel with a modern stylish design which i recommend in non peak season with a good rate.
GGuest UserThis hotel served as a perfect stopover while hiking the Kumano Kodo. It's less than a 10-minute taxi ride from Kumano Hongu Taisha. This was my second stay, and when I asked, the hotel mentioned a renovation in November 2025, but it sounds like it will only be a partial refurbishment! The hot springs are very comfortable, with both indoor and outdoor baths. The outdoor bath is mixed-gender, and they provide special robes you can wear out there. I booked the half-board option (dinner and breakfast), but the food was quite ordinary with limited choices. However, since there are no convenience stores nearby, eating at the hotel was the only option. The hot spring river, just a 5-minute walk away, now has a public hot spring pool. Many people were enjoying it early in the morning, and kids were also digging their own small pools in the river. Waking up to the steam rising from the river was just wonderful.
HHuyanhuyuRight outside Kushimoto Station, you can spot the hotel's shuttle bus (there's a timetable, and it aligns with most Kuroshio train services).
The hotel is a bit dated, but the cleanliness is decent. The room was very spacious, though the furniture is old. The guest lounge in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby offers a variety of free beverages and overlooks the sea.
We booked a half-board plan with dinner and breakfast. The buffet dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and we feasted on tuna sashimi until we couldn't eat anymore.
Our mountain-view room overlooked a baseball training field. Watching the young people swinging their bats and hearing the crisp sound at sunset was very relaxing.
The public bath was pretty standard, nothing particularly special.
There's a circular bus service outside the hotel that goes between Kushimoto Station and various attractions, but the buses are infrequent and the waits are long, so I'd recommend taking a taxi instead.
Next to the hotel, there's a small chapel that instantly gave me South California vibes...
11356417****The rooms are spacious, but the hotel is quite old, so the facilities are outdated. However, because there are indoor and outdoor hot springs, many locals stay there on weekends, and the lobby bar offers complimentary snacks and drinks, making it good value overall. However, the hotel's location is remote, and there aren't many restaurants nearby, making it very inconvenient if you're not traveling by car.
TTATIANA TUMANOVADefinitely interesting experience. Partly tourist tradition, partly religious. As a new, atypical experience in Japan, the meal ritual and the vegetarian cuisine itself were interesting. Participation in the morning Buddhist prayer was valuable. Comfortable nice leather slippers. Saving hot springs on a rainy day.
The strict end of the day time was inconvenient for us: the front door closed at 9 pm, and we were not allowed to linger during our walk. Quiet time from 9 p.m.Baths close at 8 and 9 pm.
Thanks for the experience!🙏
GGuest UserRoom was comfortable, had a sea view, there was another hotel in between us and the sea, but nevertheless it was beautiful to be beside the sea.
Breakfast was tardy, staff were friendly, Onsen was big split over two floors with the highlight for me being the outdoor pool on the first floor
LLUI booked a budget room at this hotel for a one-night stop in Kii-Tanabe before setting off on my Kumano Kodo hike. The location is super convenient, with the train station, bus stop for the next day, convenience stores, the tourist center, and many restaurants all just a few dozen meters away. The hotel is older, and the facilities are basic but adequate. My room wasn't very large, but it was very clean.
