Gran Melia Xi'an

Driving from Shanghai to Xi'an, I spent half a day picking a hotel and finally settled on Gran Meliá for four nights. It was a fantastic experience. We arrived in Xi'an on Tuesday, and only the night before did we realize that our car's license plate number was restricted that day. So, we had to get to the hotel and park before 7 AM. We then explored the morning market and had breakfast. The hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to check in at 9 AM, depending on room availability. The welcome fruit and snacks were also lovely. I had originally booked a room without breakfast for about 680 RMB per night. At check-in, the front desk recommended a half-board package. For roughly the price of one extra night, it included 4 days of breakfast for a family of three, one main meal, free soft drinks all day at the bar, one afternoon tea light meal, and three free laundry items daily (which was a convenient perk in Xi'an's summer heat). The hotel's Cantonese Chinese restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast buffet was also very extensive.

I really liked how bright the lobby was, and the large room numbers made it easy to find my room. It was great. Having a balcony was a plus, as I could dry clothes, but it's a shame there was no light on it. You need to arrange airport transfers with the hotel a day in advance, which is something I hope they can improve. It's close to the Datang Furong Garden subway station, and also convenient for the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Datang Everbright City. The breakfast was plentiful. Overall, it was good, and I'd stay here again.

The room was spotless and the service was excellent. No matter when I called or what the issue was, it was resolved quickly. Ms. Sophia was very kind and enthusiastic.

Excellent! My kids loved it. It's really close to the attractions, and there are lots of entertainment facilities, including a nice swimming pool. The rooms are spacious, and the service is great. Parking was also convenient since we drove ourselves.

The hotel breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, which is why I'm a returning guest. The lobby is spacious and bright, and the location next to the Tang Paradise theme park is perfect – it's quiet despite being in a lively area. There's also a commercial street nearby, making shopping and dining very convenient.

My family and I took our grandson to Xi'an for the first time, and our relatives highly recommended the Gran Meliá Hotel, saying we wouldn't be disappointed! So, we booked a four-night stay. First off, the hotel's decor is unique and charming, and it's super convenient for visiting nearby attractions. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, and the front desk service was incredibly attentive and warm. What really stood out was that on our second day, we had to leave early for the Terracotta Warriors, and the restaurant specially prepared delicious takeaway meals for us. Plus, the hotel's breakfast buffet is fantastic, offering a great mix of Chinese and Western dishes that really whet your appetite. The Xi'an local specialties were particularly delicious, definitely one of the hotel's highlights. We'll definitely stay here again next time we come to admire the beauty of Chang'an City!

Arrived in Xi'an, and a light rain brought a welcome calm to the sweltering heat. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, especially the ones at the entrance. When a car arrived, they'd help guests load large luggage into the trunk and even open the car door. Everything was handled with such thoughtful detail. As for the hotel's environment, it's simply beyond words. The serene garden right before your eyes offers a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling city. Its central location makes getting anywhere a breeze... And after a soak in the tub with those wonderfully fragrant toiletries, you're sure to drift off into a peaceful sleep.

The hotel lobby is grand, and the front desk and concierge service were excellent. They helped bring our luggage to the room. I used my room upgrade voucher, and the front desk agent upgraded us to a room with a terrace overlooking the lake. However, the overall room facilities and decor are just average. I noticed the hotel dates back to 2014, and the hairdryer was incredibly difficult to use. Overall, at this price point, the facilities don't really match, so it's not great value for money. On the upside, it's very close to the subway, and you can walk to Furong Garden in just a few steps.

Every time we bring our child to stay, we choose the Gran Meliá. The front desk staff are incredibly helpful. My child overslept for his nap, and they kindly extended our check-out time for free, which was really considerate and much appreciated 👍 My child loves playing at the hotel.
