Sollago Myeongdong Hotel & Residence

This is my second time staying at this hotel, so I was a little disappointed during this visit. During my previous stay, I was able to cook simple meals and microwave leftovers in the room, and those amenities were actually one of the reasons I chose to return. When I arrived, I was informed that this is no longer allowed due to recent fire incidents, which I understand. However, I feel this update should have been clearly reflected on the booking page so guests can make informed decisions before booking.

The location of the hotel is very convenient to reach out to many tourist spots. The price is competitive to similar properties nearby.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel during my trip to Seoul. The hotel was nice and clean, and the check-in process was fast and smooth, which made arrival stress-free. Although the room was a bit small, it was still comfortable enough for 3 people. One of the highlights is the location, there are plenty of food stalls around the hotel, offering authentic local bites without the overwhelming crowds you’d find in Myeongdong. Personally, I found this area much more enjoyable and relaxing. The metro station is just a 3-minute walk away, making it very convenient to explore the city. Travel Tip: From the airport, take the train to Seoul Station (either normal or express), then transfer to the blue line to Chungmuro Station. If you’re carrying luggage, Exit 5 is the best choice since it has an escalator — just walk toward Starbucks. Otherwise, Exit 7 is a quicker option. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for travelers looking for a clean, convenient, and well-located stay in Seoul.

Very good location, near to minimarkets and all kinds of restaurants. Myeongdong and olive and young are within walking distance. However, the room condition, bed and pillows are in average condition (scratches on wall paint, too soft pillows, sinking bed). Room service is available with payment and have to book 1 day in advance hence no top up for waste plastic bags and toilet paper. Kitchen is provided but NO microwave (the microwave is only at the pictures to attract customers for booking I guess). No table is provided and it makes it difficult to have meals in the room. Hotel is further down inside the alley and makes it difficult to hail big taxi to airport. We had to stroll heavy luggage to the main street (about 15 mins walking on uneven path) just to get into the taxi stand. PS: if you are into full service hotel with proper concierge services, this hotel is not for you. But if you are into a budget kinda stay, this is the right choice.

I was disappointed with the cleanliness of this property. The shower area had significant black mold that appeared impossible to remove through normal cleaning, the toilet seat was dirty, and there was an unpleasant odor in the room. As I arrived late on the first night, I reported these issues the following morning. I had originally booked an 18-night stay, but due to the hygiene concerns and odor, I lost confidence in the property’s overall cleanliness, even if I had been offered another room. Unfortunately, the property insisted on charging me for four nights even though I requested to check out early immediately after reporting the issues. I would not recommend this property to guests who value cleanliness and hygiene.
