Arxan National Forest Park is located in the forest of the Greater Khingan Range. The park houses Terme Mountain and Darbin Lake, along with Shitanglin and Heavenly Lake, which were formed by lava flows during volcanic eruptions. Its mineral resources are particularly beneficial and are known as "the world's wonderful springs." The Halaha River, Chai River and YiMin River zig-zags through the area, with many lakes in between. Entering the park, visitors are greeted by a large canyon. The main body of the canyon is a fault line of volcanic lava, and is also the source of the Chai River.

Show More ReviewsArxan's autumn scenery is most beautiful in mid-September. I spent a day and a half exploring two routes within the Arxan National Forest Park, witnessing breathtaking views of yellow, red, and green hues, vast larch and birch forests, and layered mountains. On the third day, I drove through Chaihe Town, visiting Moon Lake, the Ten Great Bays, rock paintings, and Tongxin Lake – the journey itself was also beautiful. The only drawback was that the infrastructure at the Tianchi scenic area needs improvement; there were too many gravel roads. Also, it was difficult to hail a taxi from the scenic area to Arxan city; ride-sharing and online car-hailing services were hard to find. I look forward to a more pleasant surprise next time I visit!
