Beijing Auto Museum

This is a thematic museum dedicated to automobiles. The Beijing auto museum houses models and actual vehicles from history, explanations of car internal structures, and displays predicting future automobiles, allowing visitors to learn about the historical development of cars. Children can also participate in various interactive activities like simulated racing and automotive films.

The Beijing auto museum building resembles a dynamic big eye in shape, with its ticket office located inside a train engine at the entrance, making it quite distinctive. The basement of the Beijing auto museum serves as a parking area and luggage storage, and occasionally hosts temporary exhibitions during certain periods. The visiting area consists of five floors above ground, which can be explored step by step upon entry, taking approx. 2 hours.

First floor: Beijing auto museum lobby

The first floor is the lobby of the Beijing auto museum, along with temporary exhibition halls and multi-functional halls. In recent years, it has served as the venue for the Fengtai urban planning exhibition, which is relatively simple in content.

Second floor: Visit famous car prototypes

On the second floor, there is an exhibition showcasing the development of China's automotive industry, featuring prototypes of vehicles like the Soviet-era ZIM and Volga cars, which are worth visiting. However, the exhibition is relatively simple, as the main functions of this floor are the restaurant and souvenir shop. The restaurant is divided into a theme restaurant and a fast-food restaurant. The theme restaurant has a unique decor centered around highways and automobiles, offering Western cuisine in an elegant setting, while the fast-food restaurant is more basic. The souvenir shop sells various souvenirs, including car models, for those interested in visiting and purchasing.

Third floor: Future vehicle impact forecast

The third floor showcases the future of automobiles and their impact on human life. The future exhibition area features many concept cars and models predicting future vehicles, which are quite distinctive. The impact on human life section displays how cars have brought convenient changes to daily life, but also highlights negative effects like transportation congestion and pollution, while demonstrating human efforts to address these adverse impacts. This floor also offers various interactive activities for children, including car-themed movies, driving simulations, car dancing (where cars dance to music), and car model assembly games.

Floor 4: Learn about car structure

The fourth floor features technology-focused exhibits that are relatively specialized, showcasing the internal structure of cars, production lines, and other automotive manufacturing processes to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of vehicles. This level also includes a car design simulation where visitors can create their own car designs on computers, with the system scoring their creations—an engaging experience. In the F1 racing exhibition area, visitors can enjoy thrilling racing simulations.

Floor 5: Learn about automotive history

The fifth floor showcases the history of automobiles, ranging from the earliest horse-drawn carriages and wheelbarrows to famous Chinese historical vehicles like the south-pointing chariot and drum-beating carriage, all the way to modern cars. It features unique vehicle types such as early foreign steam-powered cars and China's first steam-powered car from the Qing dynasty, along with vintage prototypes like the Beetle, Ferrari, and Ford, making it an excellent place to learn about automotive history.
