Grand Hyatt Seoul

We ultimately decided to stay here because of the good reputation of this established hotel. Located halfway up Namsan Mountain, the mountain-view rooms offer a view of the N Seoul Tower, and the view from the public areas is quite nice. Perhaps because it was peak tourist season in Seoul, there was a huge number of guests checking in and out. Upon arrival, there was no doorman to help with luggage, nor was anyone guiding guests to the check-in area. The lobby was very noisy. During our 3-night, 2-day stay, only one female staff member helped open the car door—thank you to her! The room wasn't very spacious, which is a common issue with overseas hotels. The bedding was very comfortable, but there was dust on the headboard. The bathroom faced the front door directly, and every time the door was opened, a slight odor could be smelled. We originally booked for three nights, but due to issues with Ctrip and other factors, we didn't end up staying the third night, though Ctrip helped resolve it. However, the front desk staff were quite something; apart from their aggressive attitude, we didn't feel the hospitality a hotel should show its guests. I'd rather not name names, but I could see the friendly attitude the hotel staff showed toward Koreans, which we certainly didn't experience ourselves. The hotel provides a shuttle bus running to three locations, including Myeongdong. Different buses go to different spots, and the timetable can be found on the right side of the hotel entrance.

I came here for an event and had a great experience. The Grand Hyatt Seoul's facilities are excellent. The views and the pool are also great, the food is delicious, and the service is wonderful. All the staff here are very handsome.

Aside from the nice scenery, the room service food was also decent, but everything else was pretty mediocre. The room size was extremely small, and the fixtures were old and outdated. There was no smart toilet, and even the shower had a curtain. Bottled water and slippers were only available by request. Plus, if you stay on a weekend, it's incredibly crowded. Although the breakfast had a wide variety, the quality was just average. The location is halfway up a mountain, which is inconvenient; except for going to Hannam-dong, it's not easy to get to any other place. In short, I definitely won't be staying here again.

I booked this room for 2300 a night with a friend. I saw some bloggers on Xiaohongshu saying the rooms were small and the ceilings were low, but honestly, it wasn't too bad (maybe because it was my first time staying at a 5-star hotel, so I don't know how good other 5-stars are). I'd recommend booking an afternoon tea on Naver. After checking in, change and enjoy afternoon tea. In the evening, the lobby has a total old money vibe, perfect for photos. If you're only staying one night, I highly recommend it, especially if you can get a good price! We originally booked a room with a regular view, but the front desk offered us a Namsan view room, though it was next to the elevator. They asked if we were okay with it, and we immediately said yes. However, if you're a light sleeper, definitely don't agree to it, because from around 6 AM onwards, you can hear the elevator going up and down.

It was crowded during check-in, but I really appreciated that they guided me to a separate waiting area, which was a pleasant place to sit. The room view was excellent, and the outdoor pool was particularly great.

I really loved the classic design; the whole environment was very comfortable. However, the hairdryer completely clashed with the classic, high-end feel of the place. It felt like a very cheap hairdryer, and it made my hair super frizzy...

This hotel was a blast, blending business travelers and vacationers seamlessly. I tried the lunch buffet, and all the dishes were delicious.
