3-Star Hotels in Perak, Malaysia

The environment is beautiful and very therapeutic. However, the room is too small. Although the bathroom is spacious, the shower area is quite basic. Despite this, my family still hopes to revisit and perhaps a different room might offer a better experience next time.

Highly recommend for a trip to Ipoh! The room was spacious and clean, easily accommodating three adults and two children. The facilities were well-maintained. Breakfast offered a good variety and was delicious. The location was convenient for getting around. The service was thoughtful and very family-friendly. It was so convenient to travel with kids staying here, making our experience stress-free and comfortable, far exceeding our expectations!

The location is good, nearby to the eateries and easy accessible. There is also ample food parking inside and outside the place. Contactless check in and checkout as well. The only thing is there is some humid smell in the house, after open the window and get some fresh air, it’s good.

-- Very powerful Wi-Fi. -- TV with plenty of channels. -- The breakfast buffet is good for my taste (coffee, milk, juice, jam, watermelon...). That's enough for me. The staff replenish items diligently. I found it interesting that during check-in, they give you a little bag with the TV remote, A/C remote, and the card to open the room and use the elevator. RM 50 deposit. Room 713... the only downside of the hotel is the low water pressure in the sink (a very, very weak stream that you can barely wash your hands with). On the other hand, the shower has good pressure, but the sink is very weak.

The hotel is the most affordable place to stay in Ipoh. The room is huge and has enough space for walking, and the bed is clean and comfortable enough to sleep. There are also a few places to eat along the street and the foods nearby are cheaper compared to the city centre. On the other hand, the hotel's floor is dirty, it's difficult to walk and we feel disgusted. Furthermore, the room unprovided the fridge. Lastly, the funniest place, the room provides us an ironing board but they don't provide an iron.

The hotel decor very nice as the hotel name as Boutique, the room i booked was double bedded not big as expected but just nice for solo traveller, the toilet very nice colour which black and white, the toilet flashing got problems and the counter gave a fast and good solution very fast . The only I wanted to complaint is the bed and the pillows not nice for good sleep, maybe the hotel need to made a changed especially the pillows .

For the price, I think it is a reasonable option.  However objectively: 1. The air-cons don't work well - one of them was leaking.  The staff was helpful in sending contractor to fix while we were out but due to miscommunication (because we have connecting rooms) the ”fix” was made to the air-con that wasn't leaking as badly as the one we complained about.  To be fair they offered to swap rooms but we are a family of 5 and it was a hassle to repack and move so we declined.  2. The hot water was very good despite some reviews.  However the shower head in one of the rooms were such that they don't stay put so occasional splashes happened.  3. One of the rooms wasn't cleaned (we have connecting room) - the ”make my room” card wasn't available in one of the room so we hung on just 1 of the room and left the connecting door open, thinking that the cleaners would clean both.  They only cleaned 1.  I guess we could have outright told reception instead of assuming that the cleaners will clean both rooms since we left the connecting door open.  4. I paid for extra bed - but the bedsheet was dusty - they changed it (or at least vacuumed it) after the first night.  5. The beds were quite comfortable, they offered free bottled water and coffee sachets, tv worked, fridges worked, rooms were decent sized, wifi was ok - ample street parking, the lights were ok but one of the rooms had stark white lights instead of the warmer ones. Location was good, just off the highway and across the eateries in Bercham.  6. The staff were helpful and friendly.  Despite the complaints they texted me and constantly called to check if we needed towels (because one of the room weren't cleaned) and they asked twice if we wanted to change rooms (we didn't because of reason stated above).  7. Suggestion - build a small ramp to go up to the hotel from the road if possible.  It will be helpful for luggage and older folks / wheelchairs etc.  All in all, it was a decent stay.  Price was competitive but cleanliness could be better - and air-con/shower heads can be better maintained. 

Worth the price you pay! Great location, just beside the highway. Everything is clean, aircond was functioning well, the room is nice. It’s just that the small fridge is not functioning and the water pressure is kinda slow. But I don’t really mind. The front desk was also nice. I will reconsider staying at this hotel again for a short staycation.

Recently stayed at The Cove Hillside in Ipoh, Perak, and it was an exceptional experience. If you're looking for a peaceful, luxurious stay with a stunning natural backdrop, this is the place to be. Apartment Features: The apartment I stayed in was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed. It had an open-concept layout that combined a comfortable living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy dining nook. The kitchen had all the essentials—fridge, stove, microwave, and even a washing machine, making it perfect for longer stays. The living room had a large flat-screen TV and comfy seating, creating a great space for relaxation. The bedroom was cozy with a large, comfortable bed, and the bathroom had a clean, modern feel with a spacious shower and high-quality amenities. The air conditioning was a lifesaver, especially with Ipoh’s warm weather. Service: While staying at The Cove Hillside, I felt like I had the best of both worlds—privacy and comfort, but with access to excellent service. The staff was incredibly friendly, offering quick check-in/check-out and always willing to help with any requests. Housekeeping was efficient, keeping the apartment spotless during my stay. They also provided helpful information on local attractions, making it easy to explore the area. Amenities: One of the standout features of The Cove Hillside is the range of amenities. The infinity pool is absolutely breathtaking, offering sweeping views of the surrounding hills. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing. The fitness center is well-equipped with modern machines and free weights, great for staying in shape. There’s also a barbecue area that can be reserved for gatherings, which adds a nice touch for family or group stays. Plus, the complex is gated with 24-hour security, so I felt very safe and secure throughout my stay.

We stayed at Ipoh Bali Hotel for 4 days and 3 nights for our honeymoon, and we’re truly so grateful we chose a local honeymoon instead of flying overseas. This place made our trip feel peaceful, romantic, and memorable. From the moment we checked in, Raidah was incredibly warm, helpful, and friendly and she even checked us out at the end of our stay. Her hospitality really made us feel welcomed and taken care of throughout the trip. All the staff we met during our stay were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Every time we walked past, we were greeted with smiles, which made the atmosphere feel so warm and comfortable. We also had massages during our stay, and the masseuses were amazing. The service honestly felt like a 5-star experience, professional, relaxing, and exactly what we needed after the wedding. A special mention to the breakfast team as well, especially May, who was so kind and attentive. The food was excellent. We loved it so much that we ordered the same dishes twice during our stay, the Balinese chicken porridge and the Balinese rice set (can’t remember the exact name, but it was so good!). The room itself was spacious with beautiful high ceilings, giving such a cozy Bali-inspired atmosphere. One of our favourite parts was the sound of flowing water from the balcony at night It was incredibly calming and helped us sleep so well. The bathroom was also very spacious and came with a lovely bathtub, which made the whole honeymoon experience even more special. Honestly, the hotel felt like a 5-star resort experience to us, so we were surprised to find out it’s officially rated 3 stars. The service, atmosphere, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. Overall, this was the perfect honeymoon stay for us, and we will definitely come back again in the future.
