Chhatarpur Temple

Situated in the posh locality of South Delhi, i.e. Chhatarpur, Chhatarpur Temple is dedicated to Goddess Katyayani, a part of Navadurga. Founded by Baba Sant Nagpal Ji in 1974, the temple is the second largest in all of India after Akshardham Temple (which is also in Delhi).

Temple is peaceful, very near to the metro station. Not much traffic and easily accessible. You can walk to reach, very well built.

This is probably the largest temple in Delhi. It is dedicated to the goddess Durga (MAA Aadya Katyayani). The temple is very close to Chattarpur subway station. You can even walk there, it takes about 7-8 minutes. Parking is sufficient. During the Hindu festival, you will find a large number of tourists. I would suggest you go and win the blessing of Maa Aadya Katyayani. There are also temples of Hindu gods in the building.

The Chhattarpur Temple may not be the most beautiful temple you visit but it certainly offers a sense of calm and divinity. It is located quite close to the Qutub Minar. I liked the architecture and the general feeling the temple gave me as I walked through it.

The Monkey God is also so sacred and sublime here.
