Daochang Mountain Wangshou Temple

It is located in the mountain near the top of Daochang Mountain in the south of Huzhou. It is listed in the "Five Mountains and Ten Temples", one of the ten famous temples in the south of the Yangtze River, and has a great influence on the Buddhist circles at home and abroad, especially in Japan and Southeast Asian countries. The Wanshou Temple was built in the Zhonghe period of the Tang Dynasty (881-884). The Song Jiatai Room (1201-1204) was changed to "Miaojue Temple". Ningzong (1195-1224) of the Southern Song Dynasty established the higher level of the national Buddhist temples as "Five Mountains and Ten Temples", and the Wanshou Temple ranked second among the ten temples. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Wanshou Temple was destroyed by fire. Monk Zhengyin advised to recruit for reconstruction. It was built in the first year of Yuan Zhishun (1330). According to the "Wucheng County Chronicle" of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, after the reconstruction of Wanshou Temple, there were five halls for the law and seven halls for the monks. It was also used for the library building, the incense collection cabinet, the Qingshan hall, the plum sandalwood forest, the Mengtang hall, the selection hall, etc., and later the Guanyin Hall was added. It was rebuilt in the third year of Ming Hongwu (1370). In 1984, Wanshou Temple began to be rebuilt, and in 1997, the Thousand-hand Guanyin was shaped. In 1996, the Mahavira Hall was completed. Wanshou Temple has been restored to become a famous temple in the south of the Yangtze River.
