If you don't want to go to work, come to Xitang and just idle away your time!
Xitang ancient town is so beautiful. This is my second visit to Xitang, and I still find it as charming as it was ten years ago.
As I step onto the historic stone-paved roads, I close my eyes, listen to the sound of oars slicing through the lake water, feel the breeze on my face, and suddenly feel so relieved. If you don't want to work, just come to Xitang and idle away!
I've put together a two-day, one-night guide for you to copy directly –

Recommended must-visit spots:
Misty Rain Corridor
The rain corridors in Xitang are mostly concentrated in Beizha Street, Nanzha Street, and Chaonandai commercial areas. Some have long benches with backs along the river, providing shade and shelter from the rain. Scenes from 'Mission: Impossible' were also filmed here!
Shipi Alley
Shipi Alley is at the end of Xitang's West Street, 68 meters long, paved with 216 stone slabs that are only three centimeters thick.
Xiyuan
Xiyuan is the largest private garden in Xitang ancient town, a typical Jiangnan garden style, with beautifully carved beams and painted rafters, and pavilions and towers in an orderly fashion.
China Button Museum
The Button Museum is located on West Street, with six exhibition halls: Ancient Button Display Area, Modern Button Display Area, Contemporary Button Display Area, Shell Button Production Process Display Area, Button Application Area, and Chinese Knot Display Area. The museum features live demonstrations of shell button production processes.
Songzi Laifeng Bridge Wupeng Boat
How can you not experience a Wupeng boat in the ancient town? At dusk, take a boat with friends to see Xitang from another perspective, a different kind of beauty.
Liuyunji Gaiwan Tea
The ancient town is best enjoyed by walking slowly and browsing slowly. Drinking tea here is also a way to travel at a slow pace.
Food recommendations:
Guan Lao Tai Stinky Tofu, a local specialty, with crispy tofu and tender inside drenched in sauce, is so delicious.
Wang Chengxing, even for someone like me who doesn't like noodles, I find the shaomai and eel noodles delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. You must try it.
Accommodation:
Xitang Muyue Hotel
No. 368, Nanyuan Road, Xitang Town
The hotel is near the Wugu Niang Theme Park, which is very convenient for entering and exiting the scenic area. The overall style is new Chinese, and most importantly, it's very quiet!
The Xitang scenic area is not large, and if you're in a hurry, you can finish touring it in one day. However, I recommend spending two days to get a deeper understanding of its beauty –
Other tips:
Regular ticket sales time for the scenic area: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (except for holidays and major events);
During statutory major holidays (New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day) including the day before the holiday but excluding the last day of the holiday, the ticket sales time for the scenic area is 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM;
Very worth a visit! 1. Convenient transportation. Take a taxi or buy a ticket at a long-distance station, and the scenic spot is near the highway intersection. 2. If the scenic spot tickets are mistakenly issued, they can be used three times. Generally, they will return when they meet the exit, and they are worried that they will not find the way after going out. The exits have obvious signs. 3.12 The attractions are not bad, with Jiangnan characteristics, the key is that the business format is relatively rich, the prices are also cost-effective, many Hanfu shops, the photos are very good. 4. The service is also very good. Living in the scenic area, the service of the homestay is very good. You don't have to buy tickets the next day. The tickets are valid within 24 hours when you enter, which is very convenient. 5. There are many teahouses, cafes, and the main street is more commercialized, but the area next to it is home to local residents, which is very sensational.
Xitang is a place that you don’t want to go when you come. Next time you can spend a night to see the night view of Xitang’s red and wine. Drink a cup of micro-sparkling wine in the clear bar of Xitang and walk on the stone road full of history.

The scenery of Xitang Ancient Town Scenic Area is still very good. Both day and night are very beautiful. An ancient town living in it also has many small attractions such as Zuiyuan, Huguo Suiliang Wang Temple, Xiyuan, Button Museum, Wadang Cultural Exhibition, Wangzhai and other small attractions. Some cultural relics in small attractions are still worth seeing. However, Xitang Ancient Town charges 95 yuan for tickets, which is not as good as the surrounding Jinxi Ancient Town, Lili Ancient Town, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town and other strategic thinking. If you exempt large tickets, it is better to only charge small attraction tickets.
