Lads trip to Bari
It is difficult to explain how a cave becomes a Church, and then when you see the frescos and how people would have worshipped in a 12th century church, it almost makes sense.
If you like seeing churches then Matera is the place to visit. These churches are on the far end of the Sassi. Away from much of the more crowed area. They are old and very interesting.

Facinating
Situated in the Sassi area this is a cave church. Very start with some faded frescos and a simple alter. Worth a visit.
