Tiny rural church
This fascinating survival sits in a field. It contains original 16th-17th century pews and is very simple inside. Gives a very good idea of churchgoing for the rural peasantry at t he time.
You have to be keen on delightful old chapels to make the journey- but if you are so inclined then its worth the effort. No staff on site- the local farmer locks and unlocks, so no charge and no fac...
The box-pews, pulpit, door, roof and all the woodwork is Tudor and untouched since that period. Looking through the doorway straight out to golden hay stubble, green hills beyond and a clear blue sky...
To check this was open we studied the website carefully and believed the Chapel was open today, 12th January. After a lengthy journey down some interesting roads, we arrived to find the doors locked! ...
