It is a monument to the site of the newly built dormitory "Edi Ryo" when the Sapporo Agricultural School (currently Hokkaido University), which opened near the current clock tower in 1897, moved to the current Hokkaido University premises in 1897. It was a building with 36 rooms in two buildings, the entrance building and the South and North dormitory, but over time, the current Edi dormitory is the third generation of concrete structures. In the village of Hokkaido pioneering in Noboro Forest Park, 12 rooms in 2 buildings, the entrance building and the South / North dormitory, have been restored, and you can experience a part of the state of the dormitory at that time.
