It is a superb view spot of cherry blossoms.
There are many beautiful places with cherry blossoms in Miyagi, but what is overwhelming is the area around the first-glance Senbonzakura in Shiraishi River from Funaoka Castle Ruins Park. If you go, it is recommended early in the morning, and if it is not crowded, you can see it slowly. The difficulty is that there are many walking distances because it is wide, but if you also use it as a walking, you can enjoy going around. It's beautiful to look down from the park, and even if you go down to the riverside, it's a superb view again. It was great to see the cherry blossoms and snowstorms just a little wind!

It is the site of Funaoka Castle and there is no trace of the castle at present. Instead, a Kannon statue is built in the place where the main enclosure was located. Since it is a castle on the mountain, you will climb uphill for about 20 minutes from the parking lot to the top. From the top, you can see the magnificent Kannon statue and the cityscape beautifully.
