Macedonia Square

Macedonia Square is the main square of Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. The square is the biggest in North Macedonia with a total extent of 18,500 m². It is located in the central part of the city, and it crosses the Vardar River.

Fun fact about Alexandra the Great Statue in Skopje. There is an ongoing debate where some say he is from North Macedonia and others saying he is Greek. This debate has also spurn into a spat between North Macedonia and Greece on the use of the word Macedenia as a country name (which is why there is a North in North Macedonia) and also the Macedonian flag.
