The Liuzi Canal Wharf Site is located in Liuzi Administrative Village, Baishan Town, Suixi County, Huaibei City, from the Sui Dynasty to the Song Dynasty. Liuzi is a town on the Tongji Canal of the Grand Canal in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. It prospered for five hundred years due to the opening of the canal. The third volume of "Sui Shu·Yangdi Ji": "In the third month of the first year of Daye in Xinhai, more than one million men and women in the Henan counties opened the canal, ... since the board All the rivers lead to Huai”. The Tongji Canal is more than 1,300 miles long from the Yellow River to Hongze Lake. It is one of the sections of the Grand Canal dug in the Sui Dynasty. After passing through Kaifeng, the Yellow River turns to the southeast, passes through Songcheng and Yongcheng in Henan and enters Liuzi, Guoqiao and other towns in Anhui, and enters Huaihe from Hongze Lake. Open the river more than 800 miles. This river has a history of more than 500 years in the Sui, Tang and Song dynasties, and was silted up and abandoned in the Southern Song Dynasty. Tongji Canal (called Bianhe River in Tang and Song Dynasties) flows through more than 40 kilometers in Tanxi County, Huaibei City. After investigation, it is known that the mouth of the canal is about 40 meters wide, the bottom width is about 15 meters, the depth is 7 meters, and the north embankment is 40 meters wide. , 5 meters above the ground, the south embankment is about 20 meters wide and 4 meters above the ground. After the river was abandoned, the riverbed was 2-3 meters above the ground, covering a total area of 4 square kilometers. Before liberation, the middle of the north-south embankment above the surface of the river, formed a trough road, inside the sports car, people outside the embankment heard but could not see. In recent decades, due to cultivation and soil erosion, the river embankments on both sides were gradually leveled, and the river was built as a provincial highway from Sixian, Anhui to Yongcheng, Henan. In 1999, in cooperation with the construction of the Siyong Highway, a 900-square-meter excavation unearthed a large number of porcelain specimens from more than a dozen kilns in the north and south of my country during the Tang and Song Dynasties. A stone-built wharf in Song Dynasty was found. The above items are the "firsts" in the archaeological excavations of the canal in my country.

The revealing area of the Grand Canal site of Liuyu Tang in Huaibei, Anhui, is 900 square meters, and eight Tang Dynasty shipwrecks and one stone building pier in the Song Dynasty were found on the south side of the old road of the Grand Canal. In 1999, three wrecks were excavated. The shipwreck No. 1 was a board structure with a rectangular plane. The bottom and tail were well preserved and the tail rudder was complete. There were 3 grids on the tail cabin beam, and the steering handle could change the course. The second ship is a canoe carved out of a large wooden carving, and the third ship has only half a gangboard and a section of the bottom that is connected to it. The stone building pier is located on the south side of the canal, built along the river, is a rectangular three-dimensional building, its east and west sides are used to berm, is a freight terminal. This is the first discovery of the architectural site of the Sui and Tang Grand Canal in China. Liuyan Town is a heavy town on the shore of Tongji Canal in the Sui, Tang and Song Dynasty. This excavation proves that Liuyan Town is not only a transit terminal, but also a large business travel place. The excavation of a large number of 8 dynasties since the Tang and Song Dynasty, more than 20 kiln mouths of exquisite porcelain is particularly precious, the artifacts are well preserved, the shapes are different, and many of them are boutique. Especially the discovery of porcelain in the Liao Dynasty in the Huaibei Canal has a certain significance for the study of Song and Yuan traffic at that time.
The significance of the site is great, let's take a look together
