What travelers say:

" Jellyfish Palace " is located at the foot of Woyun Mountain, northwest of Zhangjiakou City, built in Qingqianlong in 47 years (1782). Zhangjiakou has always been an important place for the trade between the Central Plains and the minority ethnic groups in the north. Especially after the Qing Dynasty, Zhangjiakou became a trading distribution center of Zhangku Avenue (Zhangjiakou to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia), which is another important commercial road following the ancient Silk Road in China. The prosperity of Zhangku Avenue has made Zhangjiakou the largest fur distribution center in China, known as " furdu ". A large number of furs are processed in Zhangjiakou and pickled, and there is a need for sufficient quality water. People found that the spring water under the Woyun Mountain was soaked and washed. The leather board was soft and the hair color was bright. The fur merchants therefore had a lush financial resources, so they raised funds to build this " jellyfish palace across the spring. In the scenic area, there are also General Feng Yuxiang Memorial Hall and Ji Hongchang Martyrs Memorial Hall.
