About Changji: Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture is one of the administrative regions under the jurisdiction of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Changji City is situated in the northern foothills of the Tian Shan, along the southeastern edge of the Junggar Basin, bordering Mongolia in the northeast. The city has been famous since ancient times as a necessary part of the route into Central Asian and European countries along the New North Road which is part of the “Silk Road.” Changji abounds with unique tourism resources. Changji is home to national-grade tourist attractions, such as the alpine lake Tianchi and the sites of historical cities from the Beiting Protectorate that was established in the western region of the Han dynasty.
