Special Events

Situated within Langelinie Park in Copenhagen, features a large statue of the Norse goddess Gefjon driving four bulls in front of her, set at the top of the fountain. Legend has it that in ancient Sweden, the king grants Goddess Gefjon any piece of land within his kingdom she can dig out in one night. Goddess Gefjon then proceed to turn his 4 sons into bulls, and plough out a large piece of land and shifted it into the sea. And from then on, there is a lake in Sweden known as Lake Vanern and the dugout land became present day New Zealand. From the map, you will notice that the shape of New Zealand is very similar to Lake Vanern and this is how the legend says the land of New Zealand came about.
