Snow Scene Live promises me to go to Sichuan West to see the snow this winter!
The winter in Sichuan West is mainly about immersive snow play and snowball fights, which can also satisfy all your fantasies about snow.
Recommended places to play in the snow in winter, 1. Bipenggou
The whole valley is covered with snow in winter, not only can you see the snow, ski, but also soak in hot springs, you must go here in winter.
2. Dagu Glacier
There is a lonely coffee shop on the top of the mountain, and the snow on the top of the mountain is particularly thick and fine, stepping on it like marshmallows.
3. Siguniang Mountain
The continuous snow mountains, forests, especially the road into the scenic area by sightseeing car, really like Swiss scenery.
4. Zhegushan
You can go to Zhegushan in winter 100 times, with European-style chalets, swings, cloud ladders, carousels, as well as skiing, snowmobiles, etc., there are really too many projects to play.
5. Wawushan
There are wooden plank roads piled with snow, fog and fir trees with snow, and beautiful sea of clouds.
6. Taiziling Ski Resort
Don't envy the north, Sichuan also has its own ski resort, with beginner, intermediate, and advanced tracks to meet different player needs.
7. Xiling Snow Mountain
It's closer to Chengdu, it's really as beautiful as described in the poem, when you come to Xiling Snow Mountain, you are in the painting.
Snow play precautions
1. Be sure to bring waterproof gloves, otherwise your hands will be frozen. 2. Scarves, hats, masks and other warm measures should be taken, it is easy to catch a cold in winter.

China’s largest ski resort!🏂⛷🎿
Getting There - 2 hours by car from Chengdu, need to take cable car up to the mountain
Attractions - Xiling Ski Resort
Hotels - Scandina Hotel
Food & Restaurants - Xiling Ski Resort
Shopping - Xiling Ski Resort
Xiling Ski Resort is located in Sichuan Province and around 2 hours by car from Chengdu city.
Once you arrive in Xiling, you will need to take a cable car to access the mountain and it costs ¥120 round trip. Once up in the mountain, everyone need to take a free bus that bring to Xiling Ski Resort.
We chose to stay at Scandina Hotel that is up in the mountain, so it means we needed to carry our bags until we reach the hotel that is 5min walking from the bus station. We left our big luggage in Chengdu and only brought skowboard clothes, boots and helmet with us to Xiling, I reccomend you travel light if you also choose to stay in the hotel up in the mountain.
Speaking about Scandina Hotel, it is the best considering it’s location, specially if you like to wake up early and go snowboard/ski on the first time in the morning, because you save the time of queuing and taking the cable car from the bottom of the mountain. But the staff is not really helpful and not prepared to receive foreign guests. Also meals are not great, there is only chinese food and quality is not good, but you don’t really have many choices around.
Speaking about the Ski Resort, me and my husband already snowboard and we had our equipments, but you can rent all there! There are lots of kids and families that actually go to plan in the base and not go up to the mountain and do sports. There are not many Medium/Advanced trails and they are very short, in the end we spent more time in the lift than actually enjoying snowboarding.
I would say it is ok to go if you live around and have no other option or if you are a beginner and want to learn go ski/snowboard or have kids!

The ancient towns around Chengdu are severely underrated, with a retro charm that's great for photography
The ancient towns around Chengdu are numerous, and many of them you wouldn't visit more than once. But Anren Ancient Town is one that I've revisited multiple times after my first visit.
I love the grey and white bricks and tiles in the ancient town, the clanging trams, and the courtyards in the mansions filled with pomelos. I can't help but raise my camera and snap away. Below is a guide to visiting and photographing Anren.
👉How to enjoy Anren Ancient Town:
✅Stroll through the old streets: Along a century-old street built next to the mansions, you can see oil-paper umbrellas and tie-dyed fabrics. Walking down the street in a cheongsam and holding an oil-paper umbrella, you'll be fully immersed in the Republican-era atmosphere, and every shot is beautiful~
✅Visit exhibitions: If you love exhibitions, you must come to Anren Ancient Town. There are limited-time oil painting exhibitions, photography exhibitions in August...
✅Ride the tram: A feature of Anren, it has the first tram in the southwest 🚃. Ride the tram from the old street all the way to Liu's Manor and experience the beauty of Anren~
✅Watch plays: The most surprising thing about Anren is the free plays I watched for a day. From stage dramas to puppet shows, each one is wonderfully presented. Sitting under the pomelo trees and immersively watching the plays, they're so good you won't want to leave 😭
📷How to photograph Anren Ancient Town:
1⃣️The pomelo garden in the mansions, with pomelo trees forming a grove and laden with fruit. Standing under the pomelo trees, any shot you take is picture-perfect~
2⃣️The oil-paper umbrellas on the old streets, Anren's signature must be these umbrellas. Walking under them is like being in a painting~
3⃣️The Republican-era buildings of Anren, including Anren Academy, Anren Old Mansions, and the Republican-era style street, all full of retro charm and great for photography!
👉Sightseeing around Anren:
✔️Jianchuan Museum
✔️Coffee Museum
✔️Liu's Manor

Relaxing escapade outside Chengdu 🇨🇳
Very aesthetic hotel outside of Chengdu. This hotel is located just an hour away from Chengdu . It is called Hiti Alruo Resort in Dayi and it is near Ancient Anren Town.
I highly recommend a weekend trip just to breathe and relax, this place is fancy and you can book a room with a soaking tub.The facilities are top class, everything is just oitstanding in my opinion. Our friends just treated me and my husband for a weekend getaway and we were surprised how beautiful the surrounding area is.
The hotel offers a free flow beer from 16:00-17:00 so we had a good late afternoon drinks just right before dinner. We opted to go eat out for dinner as we wanted to try the local food. The breakfast is also good.
You can easily book this hotel here on trip.com.. It isn't cheap though but if you really wanna treat yourself for a good and relaxing place to stay in while in Dayi then this hotel is the best one for you..
We really enjoyed our stay here.
Enjoy your Dayi trip.

The May Day holiday is crowded, so you might want to go to Dayi in Chengdu instead of where it's packed with people

It's a 1-hour drive from Chengdu.

Surrounded by mountains, with a variety of European-style buildings, it feels like being in a foreign country, very suitable for relaxing.

The 2-hour drive from Chengdu to the dreamy European-style hot spring paradise is within reach
Chengdu's winter makes one want to burst into song: I really want to escape, but I can't run away🥶
At this time, we must call upon Chengdu's three winter treasures: the sun, snow, and hot springs♨️
-
The sun and snow are at the mercy of Mother Nature🔥 I've almost tried all the hot springs around Sichuan's Chengdu, but my personal favorite has to be the Huashuiwan Hot Springs at Haihui Temple♻️:
-
This 'Huashuiwan Hot Springs Town'🏰, filled with European style and characterized by red-roofed white buildings, is located in Dayi, a 2-hour drive from downtown Chengdu🚙 The hot springs are known as 'Heavenly Wonder Springs' and are sulfur hot springs, containing more than a dozen trace elements needed by the human body, with temperatures reaching up to 68℃♨️
-
Opening hours📍
09:00-23:00, suitable for someone like me who needs both morning and evening dips, and also helps to avoid the early morning rush;
Hot spring water quality📍
The water is ancient sea sulfur hot springs. The smell and mineral impurities are authentic
Rich variety of pools📍
The outdoor Băilè Soup pools number over 30, secretly scattered amidst the natural undulating landscape;
-
♨️Hot spring experience:
When I went, there were three larger pools with clear water, and many smaller pools with sulfur water, which had a stronger smell. We chose the clear water. The top pool had flowing water in the afternoon, but it turned stagnant at night. The middle one is hotter, too much for most people, and the most conspicuous pool by the road was crowded, and although it's the most photogenic, we didn't go because it was too crowded.
-
♨️Hot spring tips:
1⃣️Off-peak timing: Weekdays are less crowded than weekends, and daytime is less crowded than nighttime.
2⃣️Always bring water when going to hot springs! Especially if it's your first time, we saw a guy who fainted because he didn't drink enough water! Make sure to drink plenty of water while soaking!

📍Heming Mountain
🚗Driving time: 1 hour from the West Gate, 1.5 hours from other places
⛰️Ways to play: Light hiking, farm stays, deep circuit hiking, camping, admiring plum blossoms, foraging for wild vegetables, paragliding, cycling, caving, rock climbing, drinking tea and coffee, etc.
🚙Road conditions: The whole journey is on concrete roads without any pressure, but if you want to go up the mountain, there might be more cars on weekends, and the slopes can be a bit shaky.
🥾Hiking trail conditions: Dirt paths, stone steps, concrete roads
Flower status: The flowers at the foot of the mountain are starting to fade, those halfway up are in full bloom, and the ones at the top are just about to bloom~ The view and scenery from the mountain are very good
✅Way to play 1:
Focus on hiking, want to forage for wild vegetables, exercise the body.
There is a crossing line of 8.8km, a small circuit of 5.4km, and the currently popular Yunzhongwu Back Mountain, which you can choose from. The scenery along the way is diverse, and the overall effect is also good for training, but be sure to pay attention to the weather before and after rain.
🧭Navigation: Dayi Heming Mountain Taoist Temple
Yunzhongwu Navigation: Starting point of Yunzhongwu Walking Trail
Track can be found: Two steps road (search by keyword)
✅Way to play 2:
Suitable for admiring flowers, camping, cycling, photography, drinking tea at farm stays
🧭Navigation: Shijiu She Homestay Courtyard
The farm stay opposite the homestay courtyard is full of plum blossoms, and there is a trail to enter, which is very beautiful
There is a base for camping, and the closed road section can be cycled on like we did
✅Way to play 3
Our way to play
🧭Drive directly to Shijiu She Homestay Courtyard
First, cycle to the camping base in front, rush up the slopes
Then start hiking from the homestay courtyard, a small circuit of about 5KM, although many plum blossoms are still buds, but the karst landscape of the strange stone forest is very distinctive. Imagine when the plum blossoms are in full bloom, shuttling through them, it must be incredibly beautiful. Along the way, the air is excellent, climb to the top of the mountain, overlook the city, it's wonderful.
Track: From the stone steps of Shijiu She Homestay Courtyard, follow the steps to the top of the mountain, then you can go down the concrete road, or exit from Juxiange Farmhouse. It's easy to find, no need for a track, there are signals all the way.
There are many more ways to play, you can DIY according to your own preferences, that's all for this share.
We are the Morris family who love the outdoors, continuously sharing nature throughout the seasons, see you next time.

Sichuan Dayi Heming Mountain - Spring begins to sprout, plum blossoms bloom
Heming Mountain is the birthplace of Taoism in China, a famous Taoist mountain, located 12 kilometers northwest of Dayi County, Chengdu, Sichuan.
Heming Mountain belongs to the Minshan Mountains, with an altitude of over 1000 meters, north of Qingcheng Mountain (about 30 kilometers), south of Emei Mountain (about 120 kilometers), west of Wuzhong Mountain (about 10 miles), and reaches the western Sichuan plain, about 70 kilometers from Chengdu. Named for its crane-like shape, stone cranes hidden in the mountain, and cranes living in the mountain, it is one of the four famous mountains in ancient Jiannan. In addition, Heming Mountain appears as the name of a sect in the game.
Geographical environment: Heming Mountain, also known as 'Huming Mountain', is a southern peak of the Qingcheng Mountain area on the eastern foot of the Qionglai Mountain Range, only thirty kilometers away from the famous Taoist site, Qingcheng Mountain Tianshi Cave. The mountain is majestic, the forest is lush, surrounded by two streams, like a standing crane ready to fly; the scenic area is full of pines and cypresses, green and dripping, mountain streams, clear and audible, it is a famous scenic tourist area and summer resort.
Historical records: According to historical records: During the reign of Emperor Shun of the Eastern Han Dynasty (126~144), Zhang Ling (Zhang Daoling) from Feng (now Feng County, Jiangsu) advocated the way of Zhengyi Mengwei (commonly known as Wudoumi Dao, also known as Tianshi Dao) on Heming Mountain in Dayi County, with Laozi Li Er as the leader and the 'Tao Te Ching' as the main scripture, marking the official establishment of Taoism. Heming Mountain is universally recognized as the birthplace of Taoism in China and the pilgrimage site of Taoism in the world, known as 'Dao Guo Xian Du' and 'Dao Jiao Zu Ting'.
Before Zhang Daoling founded the religion, Heming Mountain had always been a place of cultivation for different people. It is said that Guang Chengzi (Ma Chengzi) of the pre-Qin period and Zhou Yishan of the Western Han Dynasty both ascended here on cranes. There was a hermit, Li Jia, a descendant of Lao Dan, who lived in this mountain, kept cranes as companions, played chess and realized the Tao. The sound of cranes was often heard at the foot of the mountain, hence the name Heming Mountain. Many famous Taoists of all ages have practiced here. Such as Du Guangting of the late Tang and Five Dynasties, Chen Tun (Xi Yi) of the Northern Song Dynasty, and the famous Taoist Zhang Sanfeng of the Ming Dynasty all practiced Taoism here. Some emperors also came to Heming Mountain to worship their ancestors, such as Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty designated Heming Mountain as one of the five altars for holding national prayers for eternal life, and Emperor Zhu Di of the Ming Dynasty personally wrote a decree to the Taoist priest Wu Boli of Longhu Mountain to invite the immortal Zhang Sanfeng to Heming Mountain. Later, Wu Boli built a welcoming pavilion at the foot of Heming Mountain. Tang Qiu, Du Guangting, Wen Yu Ke, Lu You, Yang Shengan and many other celebrities have visited this mountain and expressed their feelings.
Protection of ancient relics: Heming Mountain Taoist Temple was approved as a key cultural relic protection unit by Chengdu Municipal Government in 1985, and was approved as a Taoist opening point in 1987. The 'China Taoist Culture Festival' also set up a venue on Heming Mountain.
Origin Verification: Taoism in China originated from Heming Mountain in Heming Township, Dayi County, which has long been an undisputed fact: ancient Chinese historical documents, Taoist homes and historical relics of Heming Mountain all consistently indicate that this is the birthplace of Taoism in China.

We didn't go down the mountain until after 5 pm, and it started to snow again, it has been snowing on the top of the mountain these nights
I will share my travel guide for your reference!

🍃【My travel route】
Near Ronghua Farmhouse (close to the top of the mountain) ➡️ Near Shilin Farmhouse ➡️ Near Juxiange Farmhouse ➡️ Meili Daping Forest Park ➡️ Down the mountain, play all the way from the top of the mountain to the bottom.
1️⃣Near Ronghua Farmhouse
There is a plum forest here, with more than 10 trees together, the plum blossoms have all bloomed. Especially if you go early, the snow falls on the plum blossoms, it's absolutely beautiful!
.
2️⃣Shilin Farmhouse
It's just a few minutes' walk from the last plum forest. The slope here is particularly steep, there is a big S bend, there was a moment when I thought I had arrived in Linzhi, only part of the plum blossoms had bloomed.
.
3️⃣Juxiange Farmhouse
2-3 kilometers away from Shilin Farmhouse, it is a large plum forest, there is a Juxiange campsite, surrounded by bamboo fences. The plum blossoms on both sides of the road have bloomed, walk into the plum forest, any shot looks good.
.
