The Cao Zhi Tomb was built in the year 483 AD, during the 7th year of Xiao Wen Di's reign during the Northern Wei Dynasty. The tomb lies at the west foot of the Yushan Mountain, is framed by the Yellow River and the Xiaoqing River to the east and south respectively, and is a major historical monument now under state protection. To increase the notability of the tomb, the Dong'e County commission and government together designed a site plan for the to-be attraction, dividing the area into 6 zones, including the Sacred Path before the tomb, the hill area, and the Memorial Hall, reconstructing the Cao Zhi Tomb site into a tourist attraction, complete with dining, lodging, shopping and entertainment facilities.
