El Nido Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Palawan, Philippines - A Tropical Paradise
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the breathtaking island of Palawan in the Philippines, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From its crystal-clear turquoise waters to its lush green jungles, Palawan truly is a tropical paradise.
El Nido, another gem of Palawan, stole my heart with its postcard-perfect beaches and limestone cliffs. I spent my days hopping between small islands and lagoons, snorkeling in vibrant coral reefs, and basking in the sun on powdery white sands. The views were simply breathtaking, and it felt like a dream come true.
Palawan also offers a wide range of activities for adventure seekers. I had the opportunity to go zip-lining through the lush forest canopy of Ugong Rock, which was an exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping experience. Trekking through the Tabon Caves, known for their archaeological significance, allowed me to connect with the rich history of the island.
The hospitality of the locals in Palawan is truly heartwarming. Everywhere I went, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine kindness. The people of Palawan take great pride in their culture and are always ready to share their traditions and stories.
As for the food, Palawan delights the taste buds with its fresh seafood delicacies, such as grilled squid and succulent prawns. The local markets are a treasure trove of exotic fruits, and I highly recommend trying the famous "balut," a Filipino delicacy of a developing bird embryo.
In terms of accommodation, Palawan offers a wide range of options to suit every budget. From luxurious beachfront resorts to cozy guesthouses, there is something for everyone. I opted for a beachfront cottage, allowing me to wake up to the sound of the waves and enjoy the stunning sunsets right from my doorstep.
In conclusion, Palawan is a tropical paradise that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure, and warm hospitality. Whether you are a nature lover, an adventure enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Palawan has it all. I can confidently say that Palawan has left an indelible mark on my heart, and I cannot wait to return to this island again.

Nacpan Beach Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The most beautiful beach in Palawan!
Nacpan Beach is about 45 minutes North of El Nido Town by car or by bike (approx. 22 km). Most people stay in El Nido and rent a bike (500-1000 ₱/day) to get to Nacpan beach. You can also get transfer by a van from El Nido downtown, but it will be more expensive. This is really the most beautiful beach in Palawan, but the day we were there it was impossible to swim due to the waves. So you should consider this before going there. Also sand fleas can be an issue, be careful and don't lie on the sand.

Nacpan Beach Glamping
My girlfriends and I stayed here for one night. A big thank you to Nelson, Christian, Emman, Bal, Fritz and Jenny who were very hospitable and provided us with a very warm welcome. Specially thank you to Jenny who was professional and attentive at all times.
In the day time, the Glamping site is a beautiful forest full of greenery and in the night time, it's like a dreamlike jungle. The facilities are clean and the tent was actually much bigger and spacious than we thought! You can see the stars really well at night and even a bonfire was set up for us.
Breakfast was served in Sunmai and sipping coffee with the beach right in front of us was absolute bliss. They released turtles in the morning by the site's professional egg handler and it was amazing to say the least.

Nacpan Beach
#2024wish
Nacpan Beach is known for its stunning scenery. The long stretch of powdery white sand and the clear waters create a picturesque setting. The beach is surrounded by lush greenery, adding to its natural beauty. Nacpan and twin beach are right next to each other and there are plenty of services here. There are also quite a lot of tourists, and thus the services also stand out from the good restaurants.
I want to be back here again in 2024.
Power. Strength. Gratitude. Connection.✨

Small Lagoon Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Pre-pandemic Vacation
Before this pandemic hit the world, I was able to explore and enjoy the crystal water of El Nido, Palawan. As part of the tour package, you can avail an island hopping and visit the hidden paradise of El Nido for just Php 1200 ($25) included on the tour package are the food, snorkel gears and environmental fees. No need to worries where to buy because upon landing at the airport their are a lot of people offering such tour packages. Exploring lime stones, sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, bird watching these are the activities you can enjoy. The food they offer was so delicious especially the seafoods. A piece of advice, if you have an allergic reaction with seafoods better to bring with you a medicine. This was my best trip happened in my 2020 where I was able to get my skin tanned. So delight yourself with all the fun water activities and discover the most diverse ecosystems found in the hidden beach and the towering limestone cliffs in El Nido Palawan. #besttrip #urbanexplorer

It's all in tour.
Tour A, B, C & D are all visiting different islands and all tours are stunning.Stunning lagoons, movie-like islands, beautiful wildlife, it’s all in these tours. The two most visited spots in El Nido are the Small Lagoon and Big Lagoon of Miniloc Island, both used to be part of Tour A, which covers Miniloc Island. For the longest time, Tour A was the most popular island tour, attracting more tourists than all the other three by a mile. In effect, these sites are prone to overcrowding. To address the problem, in November 2018, the local government split the two apart and reassigned Small Lagoon to Tour D. Please note too that taking plastic bottles to the islands is not allowed.

Small Lagoon El Nido, Palawan
Miniloc Island’s Small Lagoon is just one of the many unbelievably beautiful lagoons in El Nido, Palawan. Small Lagoon is not too intimidating, although it can still overwhelm, and is a welcoming sight for nature revelers. The Small Lagoon is a bit hidden. Unlike the Big Lagoon next door, which has a big open channel, the Small Lagoon can only be entered through a tiny crack in the limestone rock wall. It’s only possible to swim inside or enter with a kayak (make sure to duck your head it really is a tight entrance). This makes the Small Lagoon pretty special and it has a uique atmosphere inside the narrow lagoon. You would definitely enjoy kayaking here.

Big Lagoon Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
BIG Lagoon - Tour A El Nido ☀️⛱️
#beachaholic
The Big Lagoon in El Nido is a sight BEYOND imagination! As you enter the lagoon on a traditional boat, you're swept into a world with waters of a deep turquoise hue encircled by towering limestone cliffs. It feels otherworldly, like a hidden paradise. The serene waters are a snorkeler's dream come true, teeming with life beneath its calm surface. Kayaking through the lagoon is equally enchanting, with every stroke leading you deeper into the lagoon's tranquil essence. Through sheer beauty and tranquility, Big Lagoon truly embodies the magic of El Nido. It's a must-visit gem that promises visitors an experience of extraordinary beauty and peace.
It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. El Nido itself is a charming village hidden between hills and the ocean. There is something really genuine about it, as tourism industry is relatively new here. Nevertheless, there is everything you might need here: hotels of all levels, restaurants and cafes, tourist shops, travel agencies. The village is small and I assume can be too crowded in high season. In June it wasn't.
There are 3 tours offered - A, B, C. We've been to C and A. C means a lot of swimming and snorkeling and island hopping, secret beaches. A includes the famous big lagoon. They are really different so better go on several. Anyway there's not much else to do except the tours. They take most of the day and include great lunch of rice, vegetables, grilled fish and meet, fruits. Thanks to trip.com that we got cheap flights and enjoyed our vacation 👍💞

Snake Island Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
snake island
Small island with a sandbar which is in the form of a snake. it has clear water. There is small hill you can climb to get an aerial view of the sand bar.
One of the stops if you join the daily complimentary activities when you stay in Miniloc Island Resort. The schedule is early in the morning when no tourists from El Nido town have arrived yet. Nonetheless, view is breathtaking and the place is worth a visit. Very pristine.

Snake Island, Palawan - The Phillippines: This island is in El Nido. We have to take a day trip for snorkelling there and the island nearby. The water is crystal clear. The local boat we took is very uniquie which is my first time to ride on this kind of boat.

When I first got to know about the snake island, I thought that because there are so many snakes, it was called Snake Island. In fact, the Snake Island is named after its shape. After the ebb tide, this area has an exposed curved sandbar, like a snake. It is possible that the horizontal field of view is not very visible, and it is very obvious that it is overlooked or aerial. Sitting on the bow, there is a vast expanse of scenery, and El Nido is like a utopia that is far away from the dust. There is no mobile phone network here, only the sound of birds singing and waves rushing; no one is making any noise, only laughter; no TV newspaper, only bright green views and blue sky; no artificial things, only nature with lots of trees. People who come here will definitely fall in love with this place.
The Snake Island in El Nido, Palawan is one of the most beautiful and unique Island I have ever visited in El Nido. It boasts it's clear waters and amazing view where you can either take pictures or elax your mind. Also, you can cross between the two islands by strolling through the sandbar. The sandbar and the island was shaped into that of a snake thus its name.
