This shrine has two precincts, one called Shimo-sha in the front part, and the other is Kami-sha on the deeper side. I visited there on my trip. After a 10-minute walking through a shrine district ca...
I visited Oyama Afuri shrine and the shrine behind called Okusha - the top of Oyama mountain with friends. The rocky hiking is somewhat intermediate level - not for beginners. You must wear hiking (tr...
Beautiful shrine, plan to visit again someday to climb to the upper shrine!
Visited in April 2016 (it won't allow me to select a date farther back than June 2016) with a friend from California, we did not climb to the upper shrine but I will someday. Breathtaking view from up...
Oyama is a mountain near the Kanto region where you can take a full-scale walk. You can go up to the shrine by cable car, so there is no problem with light clothes, but it may be difficult for the elderly to worship because you climb quite a few stairs (more than 360 steps) from the parking lot at the foot to the slope and cable car platform. A must-see view of Sagami Bay from the Shrine-adjacent Shrine Ishison (※). ※ Cash or PayPay Pay Only
There is also a cable car to Shimosha, but it takes 90 to 120 minutes to climb to the head office. The autumn leaves are still still on November 4th. The maple soup is 200 yen in the precincts of Shimosha, which is delicious. I wonder if the autumn leaves are from mid-to late November.
