It is also recommended as a resting place for sightseeing and walking in Kumamoto.

It is also recommended as a resting place for sightseeing and walking. It seems that there are few visitors on weekdays, so you can spend a relaxing time. In the restoration classroom, you can sit on a desk that reproduces the time when you were in the fifth high school. The details such as the handrails of the stairs are also decorated with decorations that are hard to see in the current building, and there are many highlights. From the second floor, you can see the rotary and taste the atmosphere of the university 100 years ago.

    Retro and cute building

    Original Text

I heard that there is an important cultural property in the city and in Kumadai! The interior and exterior of the building were all retro and cute, from the interior to the interior. Some people use it as a photo spot.

Buildings that feel the Meiji period

    Original Text

I could feel the atmosphere of the Meiji era from the arched ceiling in the corridor and the classroom with an old-fashioned desk. There was a hollow on the desk to hold an ink bottle. Also, I went up the stairs in front and the view from the 2 floor observation room opposite was beautiful.

    Number school building

    Original Text

The public was canceled for a while after the Kumamoto earthquake, but I found out that it was open to the public and visited. I took a bus from Kumamoto station. There are so many buses passing through Kumadai-mae, so I didn't feel any inconvenience. When I entered from the red brick gate of Kumadai, there was a guide display and a map on the campus, so I knew the location immediately. There was a guard and admission was free. The buildings and exhibitions were a valuable tour reminiscent of the era of the number school. ... of Soseki Natsume as a person involved in the five high schools.
