Established in the autumn of 1986, the new pavilion was expanded in the summer of 2004. It is located on the west bank of the scenic Shaxi River, north of the Leidong Bridge and No. 1 Lexi Street. The new pavilion was officially opened on November 20, 2012.

Sanming Museum is located in the City Cultural Square of Guixiyang New District, Sanming City, covering an area of 3,000 square meters and a construction area of 10,000 square meters. It is a comprehensive museum. There are more than 2,300 cultural relics in the collection, including 3 cultural relics at level 1, 28 cultural relics at level 2, and 985 cultural relics at level 3.
