Shangzhi Travel Guide
Shangzhi City is located to the southeast of Harbin in south-central Heilongjiang Province. The Yabuli Ski Resort in Shangzhi has hosted both the third Asian Winter Games in 1996 and the annual Heilongjiang International Ski Festival (now part of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival). Mao’er (“Hat”) Mountain is 82 kilometers southwest of Shangzhi City. Here, you will find the Mao’ershan (“Hat Mountain”) Scenic Area. Mao’er Mountain has a primeval appearance because of its composition of medium-acid volcanic rock from the Jurassic period. There is a clear spring on the peak, the highest-elevation natural spring in Heilongjiang.
