Hongcun Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
The ancient charm of Huizhou, the beauty of Hongcun
In the ancient villages of southern Anhui, Hongcun is undoubtedly the most famous and influential one. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with a long ancient charm, revealing a strong artistic atmosphere everywhere. Walking into Hongcun is like walking into an ancient dream.
The stone road is winding and winding, and on both sides are the well-arranged Huizhou-style buildings, with white walls and black tiles, and every place exudes the charm of history. The residents here are hospitable, they will tell stories about Hongcun, as if they have traveled back to the old times.
In Hongcun, the most iconic sign is Nanhu Lake at the entrance of the village. The lake is like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding Huizhou-style buildings and the distant mountains. When there is sunlight, the lake is golden ripples, which is breathtakingly beautiful; in the rainy day, it is a charming landscape painting.
In addition to the scenery of Nanhu, the Moon Marsh shaped like a crescent is also a great attraction. Every tourist who comes to Hongcun will take a commemorative photo here.
As the New Year approaches, Hongcun also has many folk customs. Holding a lantern and shuttling through the ancient village, the strong New Year atmosphere lights up the streets and alleys.

In a place of absolute devotion, I dreamt not of Huizhou
In Huizhou, what I remember most is Hongcun. This is not my first time in Hongcun, but the last time I was here was in 2012. Yes, this visit is a return to the old place after 11 years. I still vaguely remember the scenery here, remember the photos taken on the Nanhu Bridge, which I used as my profile picture on the school network for a while. I remember the photos left by the moon marsh, and the Hui-style buildings with pink walls and black tiles, which bring me back to that green university era~
Once again in Hongcun, retracing the path I once walked, the boy of that year has finally grown up~
.
Here are a few small things I recommend doing in Hongcun
1⃣️Take a photo of the beautiful scenery of the Hui-style architecture reflected in the water of the Moon Marsh
2⃣️Have a pot of tea in Hongcun, don't miss the top ten famous tea Huangshan Maofeng
3⃣️If you can go in November-December, go on Wednesday, free admission, save 100
4⃣️Go to the Tiantang Restaurant for a bowl of local chicken soup, it's very fresh
5⃣️Take a photo of the persimmon tree in the autumn scenery of Hongcun, everything goes well
6⃣️Go to Nanhu Academy, feel the spirit of this place
7⃣️Go to eat stinky mandarin fish, chestnut roasted chicken, hairy tofu, feel the Hui cuisine
8⃣️Stay next to Hongcun, sleep in the Hui-style architecture under the stars
9⃣️Go to the nearby Tachuan, Lucun, Xidi for a turn, it's beautiful
🔟Go to the Hongcun post office to buy a postcard, send it to your future self
.

Country in the painting - Hongcun
November is the most beautiful season in Hongcun. This year the weather is relatively warm, so the autumn colors in Ta Chuan are not strong enough. It takes more than 2 hours to get to North Huangshan from Hangzhou. It takes an hour to get to Hongcun by taxi. Stay in a homestay in the scenic area, which is cheap and good. Take a rest and stroll around the street, and have Huizhou cuisine for dinner. The night view of Yuezhao is recommended. Visit the scenic spots in the morning of the second day, check out at noon, and head straight to Huangshan...

Xidi Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Huangshan/Yellow Mountain, Anhui, China
Getting There - Speed train to Huangshan Bei (North) station or fly to the Huangshan Airport. Then taxi or Didi to your hotel.
Attractions - Take a leisurely walk down Tunxi Old Street and enjoy the local cuisine, or visit one of the many restaurants or bars. FFFFF sandwich cafe has the best jaffles in town. Or visit Yungpu or Yungpi scenic area of Huangshan South scenic area (Yellow Mountain) via shuttle bus and then cable car up the mountain. We left our luggage at a local cafe and our luggage was well looked after. You can also visit the hot spring scenic area near the Huangshan South scenic area. If you enjoy visiting ancient villages, Hongcun and Xidi are worth visiting.
Hotels - Shanshui Boutique Hotel 山水间喜新恋旧 is a Japanese style hotel with Sushi restaurany and friendly, and helpful English speaking receptionist , Xiao Xi, on the shopping street and about 300m from Tunxi Ancient street. We also stayed at the Hongcun Scenic Hotel inside the Hongcun Scenic area. You can also stay on the mountain in Yungpi or Behai hotel, but it is quite a walk to get there, so pack lightly if you decide to stay on the mountain. There is also a nice hotel at the foot of Yungpu cable car area, but I don't know the name of the hotel.
Food & Restaurants - Too many in the area to single one out, many ranging from Korean, Japanese, street food to local Chinese cuisine.
Shopping - Local trinkets, tea, clothes and jewellery, depending on your taste.#newyearadventure

From the day of opening, within one month,
tourists can enjoy free admission to all scenic spots in Yi County by presenting their train ticket to Yi County East Station or an online ticket purchase record along with their ID card,
including Xidi and Hongcun,
Personally tested!
Don't miss these 4 scenic spots!
📸【Xidi】
Xidi is located in Yi County and has been inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage site along with Hongcun. Narrow alleys, low houses, thin mist rising from the distant mountains, ripples on the pond, smoke rising from between white walls and black tiles, young artists sketching by the stone bridge and water stream, the ancient village roads of Southern Anhui in all weather are charming. Xidi is more suitable for a quiet visit than Hongcun, and the viewing platform on the mountain opposite the village offers a panoramic view of the entire village, which is incredibly beautiful with the distant mountains and mist. Xidi is not far from Hongcun, Tachuan, Nanping, and Bishan, and can serve as a transfer point for a tour of ancient villages.
·
📸【Nanping】
Nanping is about 6 kilometers from Yi County and is a very typical ancient village of Southern Anhui with a light commercial atmosphere, even during holidays it is not crowded. The village has a large number of typical Hui-style architecture, where you can see the ultimate aesthetics created by the layered horse-head walls. Next to the central square of the village are two ancestral halls, among which the Ye Family Ancestral Hall (Xuzhitang) was the main filming location for the movie 'Ju Dou'. It is also a filming location for 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' and many other films and TV works.
·
📸【Hongcun】
Hongcun in Yi County is quite famous, and the entire village viewed from above looks like a green ox lying on its side by the mountain stream, with Moon Pond as the ox's stomach and South Lake as the ox's belly. The four bridges over the river and stream serve as the ox's legs. South Lake and Moon Pond, as the filming locations for 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', have become famous and are also two very photogenic spots.
·
📸【Bishan】
Bishan Village is a unique and well-known existence. The 'Bishan Project', which started ten years ago, attempted to introduce art into the countryside and tried to create an artistic utopia to avoid rural urbanization. Although the project has not been realized to this day, this attempt has left many wonderful marks on Bishan, giving it a strong artistic atmosphere. Bishan Bookstore is a rural pilot project of Nanjing Pioneer Bookstore, located in the Wang Family Ancestral Hall Qitaitang in the village, and together with Yunmen Pagoda, it has become a landmark of Bishan.

Xidi's ancient alleys deeply dream of Huizhou, savoring the colors of the world's fireworks at a leisurely pace
✅Must experience: Xidi
Xidi has a long history and rich cultural heritage. Jing'ai Hall, West Garden, and East Garden are among the more conventional check-in spots. The evening light show is also very interesting, combining fountains, lights, and mist, and just idling by the water can make one feel happy.
🍽Dining recommendations:
Hui Niang Xiao Chao is a restaurant I've visited twice; it's a bit pricey, but the home-cooked dishes are decent, with stir-fried eggs with wu jia pi and hairy tofu recommended. The sauce pork ribs, stinky mandarin fish, hairy tofu, and braised bamboo shoots at the Ancient Town's Home are also very good. The secret smashed potatoes in the narrow alley are worth a try, while the Huang Ya fish tofu is too salty and not recommended. In addition, there is barbecue and liquor at the Xidi Bowl Shop, where you can sing for free.
🚉Transportation strategy:
- High-speed train: Take the high-speed train from Shanghai Station to Huangshan North Station, then take a bus to Xidi from Huangshan North Station, with a ticket price of 23 yuan.
- Bus: Turn right at the exit of Huangshan North Station, follow the arrows to the hall, and purchase a ticket to Xidi directly at the window.
- Public transport: There is a bus station at the entrance of Xidi Village, whether you go to Hongcun or other villages to play, you can wait for the bus here
🏨Hotel environment:
Han She Ya Ju is closer to the village's rear parking lot, near the main road inside the village, making it convenient for travel.
🌟Highlights:
The architectural style here is unique and well-preserved. Strolling through the ancient town's streets and alleys is like traveling back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. You can admire the towering stone archways under the sunset, visit the scholarly Li Fu Hall, tour attractions such as East Garden, West Garden, and Peach and Plum Garden, and experience the charm of the households in the Peach Blossom Land.
In addition to ancient buildings, Xidi also boasts beautiful natural scenery. You can go to the Mukeng Bamboo Sea, surrounded by bamboo, lush and green. Step onto the Wolong Glass Skywalk, ride the high-altitude zip line, duel in the bamboo forest, and walk in the clouds, as if in a heavenly Peach Blossom Land.
In Xidi, you can also taste local delicacies such as stinky mandarin fish and hairy tofu, allowing your taste buds to enjoy to the fullest.
If you also want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, in search of tranquility and simplicity, then Xidi is an excellent choice for you.

Xidi is truly beautiful
Xidi is truly beautiful, and I regret not going earlier. As a northerner seeing Hui-style architecture for the first time, I was truly amazed! Xidi is really charming, not too commercialized, and not too crowded, allowing for a great appreciation of the scenery. It just rained, making it even more beautiful, who understands this feeling?!!!!
Xidi in the rain has a unique charm. The rain washes away the dust, making the colors of the ancient village even more vivid, and the air is filled with the fragrance of the earth. The raindrops fall on the bluestone slabs, making a crisp sound, as if telling stories of a thousand years!
It's definitely worth a visit!

Lu Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
March / April are the best times to see the bright yellow fields of rapeseed flowers surrounding villages in Anhui - and Lucun is one of those villages you can explore to enjoy an escape into nature.
From Shanghai, you can take a high speed train to Huangshan North Train Station, which is only around 2.5-3 hours. Then, to reach Lucun Village, you can either take a bus from Huangshan North or hire a driver for the day. We decided to hire a driver for a day, at 350 RMB per day, to take us around a number of villages in the area.
Lucun is located near Hongcun Village, so you could easily schedule in a visit to at least two or three villages in one day if you’re pressed for time. Lucun is one of the smaller villages, charming and tranquil, and is said to be around 1,000 years old. while strolling through, we saw locals simply getting about their day prepping meals, washing clothes or heading out into the fields to work. The surrounding areas was beautiful - with bright yellow fields surrounding the immediate area around the village, and huge rolling hills in the distance.

Discover the true essence of ink-washed Southern Anhui as you explore this guide
Lu Village is located just 1 kilometer north of the famous Hongcun, yet it is much quieter in comparison.
The ancient residential complex in the village was built during the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang era by Lu Bangxie, a fourth-grade imperial court official. The complex still preserves intact the Zhicheng Hall, Siqi Hall, and Sicheng Hall. The most famous structure in the village is the Lu Village Wood Carving Building, also known as Zhicheng Hall, which was built by Lu Baiwan for his six wives. The wood carvings in Zhicheng Hall are grand and intricate, with nearly every inch of wood covered in patterns, utilizing various carving techniques, and representing the pinnacle of Huizhou wood carving craftsmanship.
Lu Village is nestled between mountains and water, with the Xiaomen Creek to the west and the Qianjie Creek to the east, converging to the south to form the Fengzhan River. The core buildings are arranged along the banks of these two creeks, complemented by stone steps and wooden bridges, making the village both a mountain and a water town.
If you're tired of the bustling crowds of Hongcun and seek tranquility nearby, why not follow my route and visit Lu Village?
1. Siche Bridge, the stone bridge you see after entering from the south gate ticket checkpoint, was built during the Song Dynasty. In spring, there are large fields of rapeseed flowers near the south gate.
2. Lu Lin Alley, a small alley along Qianjie Creek, is a typical Huizhou-style rain alley.
3. Follow Qianjie Creek, pass by Zuixi Building, and continue to Yancreek Inn. Along the way, there are several stone bridges and pavilions, with mountains close and water afar, making for great photography spots.
4. Tian Lantern Alley and Wood Carving Building Cluster, where you can witness the exquisite craftsmanship of Huizhou carpenters.
5. Sicheng Alley, a small alley perpendicular to Qianjie, offers beautiful scenery.
6. Lu Village Viewing Platform, a must-visit spot in Lu Village located on a nearby hillside, offering a panoramic view of the village's beauty.
7. After exiting from the west gate ticket checkpoint, you can walk along Xiaomen Creek to the south gate ticket checkpoint, where the stream babbles and ducks play in the water.

Lucun Village in Yi County | Not just a pretty sight, but also home to a 'top trend'
Just 2 kilometers away from Hongcun, Lucun was the first stop that revealed the beauty of Yi County to me. Despite its low profile, it is a treasure trove of a village with the charm of southern China's beauty and has secured a place for itself among the highly competitive ancient villages of Yi County by housing the 'Number One Wood Carving Building in China'.
Originally named Zhishan Village, according to their clan records, the ancestors of the Lu family of Zhishan in Yi County were founding heroes of the Han Dynasty, including the Prince of Yan, Lu Ban. By the end of the Southern Tang Dynasty, their descendant Lu Xuan settled here to avoid the chaos of war, marking the start of over a thousand years of continuous history for the Lu family of Zhishan. Throughout the long years, Lucun has faced numerous wars and was once described as 'houses in ruins, tiles and bricks everywhere, and the living in dire straits', with only 'two or three out of ten survivors'. Yet, it has repeatedly risen from such calamities on the road to rejuvenation. The landscape and seasons here are touching, but perhaps the village's intangible charm lies in its resilient vitality that has thrived through blood and storm.
Although Lucun no longer boasts its former glory, it remains a 'living' traditional Huizhou-style ancient village. With mountains as its backdrop and built around water, the village, facing south and backing north, is embraced by two intersecting streams that flow endlessly. The alleys in the village serve as a skeleton, connecting one old house to another, each telling its own story.
The village has a thriving literary culture, with a preference for Confucianism, and is permeated with the influence of Huizhou culture, especially a wood carving building named 'Zhicheng Hall'. Its owner was the famously wealthy Qing Dynasty merchant Lu Bangxie, known as Lu Baiwan. It is said that in ancient times, because private residences could not surpass the imperial system, wealthy Huizhou merchants invested heavily in architectural decorations, leaving us with the exquisite skills of the 'Three Carvings of Huizhou'. The wood carving buildings in Lucun were built by Lu Baiwan for his six wives. It is said that it took twenty years for two exceptionally skilled craftsmen to complete them. Today, many of these techniques have been lost, but the remaining works still tell the stories of the 'unknown artists' who once created these masterpieces. You must take a close look; every carving is so interesting, with rich themes and full of meaning. The techniques include mixed carving, line carving, hidden carving, relief carving, and through carving, allowing one to fully appreciate the essence of Huizhou wood carving. Unfortunately, due to historical reasons, most of the faces in the wood carvings have been dug out, with only a few preserved thanks to the Lu family descendants who covered them with yellow mud. It was a near miss for this wood carving building to become an absolute gem.
Before leaving the village, be sure to visit Lucun's viewing platform. Although it's not the most beautiful season, overlooking Lucun wrapped in greenery, you can still feel the village in the midst of spring's intoxicating revival.
📒 There may be an admission fee on holidays, and you can drive to the viewing platform.
🌟 There is a parking lot at the entrance of the village 🅿️

Lucun Village in Yi County | Experience the exquisite Huizhou wood carving buildings and enjoy the leisurely and relaxed slow pace of life
Lucun is only 2.5 kilometers away from the Hongcun scenic area. The most typical and characteristic feature of Lucun is the wood carving buildings, which embody the essence of Huizhou residential architecture and are known as the 'Number One Wood Carving Building in Huizhou'. The Lucun wood carving buildings consist of a complex of wood carving buildings made up of seven households, mainly including Zhicheng Hall, Siji Hall, Sicheng Hall, Glass Hall, and other residences.
Lucun is nestled against the mountains and by the water, with a stream to the west of the village called Xia Men Creek, and a stream to the east called Front Street Creek, which converge to the south of the village to form the Fengzhan River. The residential houses on the east side of the village are built along the creek, with many extending out over the water, featuring open verandas, offering a unique charm.
At the entrance to the village, there is a stone bridge called Si Che Bridge, which was built during the Song Dynasty. Next to the bridge, ancient trees reach up to the sky, and in the middle of the village, there is a water channel, an artificially constructed canal. It crosses the village from Xia Men Creek in the west, winding through the village, making the water channel clear and lively, and exits from the east end of the village, connecting to Front Street Creek. The babbling creek flows through the village...
The wood carving art of the wood carving buildings is exquisite and delicate, with some using techniques such as shallow carving, deep carving, and openwork carving, creating richly layered patterns with a strong sense of three-dimensionality. For example, 'The Picture of Nine Old Immortal Deer', 'The Picture of Seven Sages in the Bamboo Forest', and various figures and animals such as the Eight Immortals are vividly portrayed, reflecting the superb skills and wisdom of ancient artisans.
The Lucun viewing platform is located on a small hillside outside the village, from where you can overlook the entire panorama of Lucun. The vigorous old trees at the village entrance, along with the vast golden fields of rapeseed flowers, paired with the ancient Huizhou architecture of small bridges and flowing water, create an especially enchanting scene!

Ta Chuan, the fairy tale village of autumn, the hometown of dreams
Once autumn comes, this place transforms, as if nature has intentionally painted Ta Chuan with a thick layer of colors.
Look at that Chinese tallow tree, its leaves are as red as fire, contrasting with the surrounding rice fields, white walls, and black tiles, it really looks like something out of a painting. The sun shines obliquely, and the sunlight dances on the leaves, sparkling with golden light, warming the heart of those who see it.
Walking on the village paths, you can smell that unique rural scent, the fragrance of rice, the smell of earth, mixed with a hint of fresh grass. This scent grounds you, as if returning to childhood, to those carefree days.
The old-style white walls and black tiles feel so familiar. In front of every household, there are plants and flowers, although not of any expensive variety, they grow lush and are simply endearing.

Recommendations for autumn travel destinations, experience the romance of nature!
As autumn arrives, the Duoba Gully Poplar Gorge in Dunhuang becomes a golden ocean. The leaves of the poplar trees turn from green to yellow, decorating the gorge like a poem. The poplar forest in October contrasts with the reeds, and together with the distant mountains and deserts, they present a magnificent view. The afterglow of the sunset covers the earth, and the entire poplar forest is golden and breathtaking.
Every year from October to November is a good time to appreciate ginkgo in Qinglian Temple in Jincheng. The pair of thousand-year-old ginkgo trees there are now covered with yellow leaves. Walking among them or sitting quietly drinking tea and enjoying the autumn, you can feel the charm of nature and the joy of life. The 6000-year-old ginkgo tree in Zhidi Dai Temple makes people sigh at the brevity of life. We are just dust blown by the wind in six thousand years, fortunate to spend an autumn day with it.
Tachuan is known as one of the three major autumn colors in the country and the most beautiful place in southern Anhui in autumn. In autumn, the leaves of the wubai trees turn from green to yellow and then to red, colorful. Coupled with the well-arranged Huizhou-style houses, it forms a charming rural landscape.
Wuyuan has a history of 600 years and is rated as one of the most beautiful ancient villages in China. The green terraces, golden rice waves, and joy of harvest form a unique "sun-drying autumn" scene, decorating the village like a poem. The worldly atmosphere and joy of harvest in autumn bloom here.
The branches of the wubai trees in Nanjing are fiery red, the ginkgo leaves are golden all over the ground, and they are intertwined with the green willows in the blue waves of Xuanwu Lake to form a beautiful scene. Walking in the ginkgo forest on the cool mountain covered with a golden carpet, you will deeply feel the meaning of the name "Jinling".
Changbai Mountain is the ideal place to pursue a brilliant autumn day. Here is the most perfect and pure primitive ecology: bright red maple trees, tall birch forests, dark green fir trees and colorful forests surround the holy mountain and lake. Here, you will realize all the romantic and beautiful fantasies about autumn in nature.

The sky is waiting for you in the color of smoke, Nanping is waiting for you!
Nanping, an ancient village in Huizhou, has probably all originated from several TV dramas in modern times. 80% of the shots in 'Chrysanthemum Bean' were completed in Ye's Ancestral Hall (Xuyi Hall). And all the indoor scenes in the 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' were filmed in Ye's branch hall next door.
Compared with the heavily commercialized Hongcun, Nanping is still inhabited by many locals, but like many rural areas in China, the village is mostly left-behind elderly people. They guard the ancestral homes left by their ancestors, work in this picturesque landscape, remember the merits of their ancestors in their hearts, but cannot continue the glory of their ancestors.

Nanping Ancient Buildings in Huangshan, Anhui | One of the must-visit attractions in Huangshan
Nanping Ancient Town | A little-known secret realm of ancient Huizhou villages, the 'ceiling' of Huizhou villages.||| I would really be sad if I came to Anhui and didn't visit Nanping Ancient Town.
Why is Nanping Ancient Town called the 'ceiling' of Huizhou villages?
▫️ Few people
Because of the fame of Hongcun, many tourists overlook this treasure of an ancient town.
When you wander through the deserted ancient alleys, a sense of atmosphere naturally arises.
Less noise from crowds and less congestion from people.
More of the heartbeat of the buildings and the breath of nature.
You can have a unique and deeper experience.
▫️ Architecture
Nanping Ancient Town is a thousand-year-old village with a grand scale.
It has nearly three hundred ancient Ming and Qing buildings, most notably a group of ancestral halls.
Eight ancestral halls of considerable size are well-preserved, including clan halls, branch halls, and family halls.
It is known as the 'Museum of Ancient Chinese Ancestral Hall Architecture.'
The architectural carvings are exquisite, the scale is grand, mysterious, and unique.
▫️ Scenery
Nanping Ancient Town is surrounded by mountains.
From the ancient alleys, the distant mountains and forests are clearly visible, just like a beautifully exquisite ink painting.
I recommend visiting Nanping Ancient Town on rainy days.
The rainy weather gives the ancient town a mysterious and tranquil atmosphere.
The nearby ancient buildings are baptized by the rain, bringing a sense of history to the forefront.
The distant mountains and forests are nourished by the rain and dew, with clouds and mist rising majestically.

Right beside Hongcun, the ancient village where directors like Zhang Yimou and Ang Lee came to shoot their films
🎬【A Beloved Destination for Movie Directors, China's Film Village·Xiaohengdian】🎬
Zhang Yimou's 'Ju Dou' and Ang Lee's 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' have both lovingly captured this mysterious ancient village—Nanping, located right next to Hongcun. With its unique charm, it has attracted numerous well-known directors. Walking through it is like stepping into the world of movies, where every brick and tile is imbued with the breath of stories.
🍃【A Pastoral Scroll from the Song Poetry, Nanping as Described by Yang Wanli】🍃
'After a fresh rain, the wildflowers are fragrant; the sandy roads are long after the rain.' The Song Dynasty poet Yang Wanli vividly depicted the tranquility and poetic nature of Nanping Village. Nestled against Nanping Mountain and boasting a thousand-year history, the village interprets the typical features of southern Anhui ancient villages with its deep and winding streets, grand and exquisite ancestral halls, and ancient residential buildings.
📚【A Historical Scroll, Jointly Painted by the Ye, Cheng, and Li Clans】📚
Since the Ye family ancestors moved here at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Nanping Village has undergone years of sedimentation, gradually forming a pattern governed by the three major clans: Ye, Cheng, and Li. Nearly three hundred Ming and Qing ancient buildings, 36 ancient wells, and 72 lanes weave together a vivid historical scroll.
🏛️【China's Ancient Ancestral Hall Architecture Museum, Eight Great Halls Each with Their Own Charm】🏛️
Nanping Village is known as the 'China's Ancient Ancestral Hall Architecture Museum', with eight major halls that are unparalleled in scale and number in Anhui Province. Among them, the Xuzhitang (Ye Clan Ancestral Hall) and Kuiguangtang (Ye Clan Branch Ancestral Hall) witnessed the legendary birth of 'Ju Dou' and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'. The former retains the original appearance of a dye workshop, while the latter has been transformed into the majestic Yuan Far Bureau. In addition, Xiaosilou, as the best photography spot overlooking the village, dazzles with its late Qing and early Republican style that blends Chinese and Western elements.
🗺️【Advantageous Geographic Location, Rich Surrounding Attractions】🗺️
Nanping Village is located in Bixiang Town, Yi County, Anhui, only 16 kilometers from Hongcun and 47 kilometers from the Huangshan scenic area. Whether it's a self-driving tour or exploring the surroundings, transportation is convenient. Nearby attractions such as Hongcun, Xidi, Guanlu, Pingshan, Bishan (Bishan Bookstore), and Shouzhuo Garden, are like dazzling pearls, stringing together the cultural journey of Huizhou.

Regular tickets are about 40 yuan, but the exciting news is that in 2024, the Nanping scenic area will be open to the public for free. With just a 10 yuan parking fee, you can enjoy this ancient village exploration journey.
📌【Tour Guide】📌
It is recommended to enter from the west entrance to start your Nanping exploration journey. Don't forget to stop at the three-hole ancient stone bridge at the north entrance of the village to feel the unique charm of the 'Ju Dou' filming location.

Spring is coming! Just wait for the rapeseed flowers to bloom in Nanping again!
Speaking of Anhui, the first thing that comes to mind for most people might be the Yellow Mountains and Hongcun, but in fact, besides the high mountains⛰️ and Huizhou-style ancient architecture, there is also the city of Huangshan, which is worth exploring for its beauty.
Today, let me introduce you to Nanping in Yixian County of Huangshan City, where the sky is blue, the clouds are white, and the scenery is as beautiful and enchanting as an oil painting. In my view, the white clouds of Yixian County are as soft and delicate as cotton candy, which is the most attractive part to me.
Walking further in, you'll encounter a dye workshop. As a traditional dye house, its unique and mysterious charm is enhanced by its location next to the mountains and water.
I dyed a bag, just like the green mountains and clear waters, and the feeling of hand-dyeing is just different. When the rapeseed flowers bloom this year, I must go and see the scenery of Nanping again~
