In the eighth year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1730), after a large-scale expansion, the Governor's Office was officially established. It has gone through the eight emperors of Yongzheng, Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang, Xianfeng, Tongzhi, Guangxu, and Xuantong, and it can be described as a microcosm of the history of the Qing Dynasty. The Zhili Governor's Office faces south to the north and is a small hard mountain building with a typical northern yamen architectural style.
