Photos of Dadi Earth Buildings

The Dadi Earth Building Group consists of Eryi Building, Nanyang Building, Dongyang Building and the surrounding landscapes such as Xuantian Pavilion, Jiaying Temple, Cixi Nunnery and Chaxiang Street. The three tulou are all large-scale residences built by the Jiang family in the "prosperous age of Kang and Qian". According to the mountain topography, the tulou of different radii were built, which is a great miracle of ancient Chinese architecture. The building complex is surrounded by surrounding mountains, presenting an amazing geometric figure. Nanyang Building - Museum of Fujian Tulou: Nanyang Building is located about 150 meters to the southeast of Eryi Building. The building condenses the history and culture of Tulou, like an encyclopedia of Fujian Tulou. Nanyang Tower was built in the 22nd year of Jiaqing Qing Dynasty (1817), which absorbed the advantages of Eryi Tower's architectural design, and its wood carving and stone carving materials are better than Eryi Tower. The Fujian Tulou Museum is divided into four parts: Tulou dwellings, Tulou architecture, Tulou culture, and Caring for Tulou. It displays the characteristics of Tulou, the life of Tulou residents and folk customs. Dongyang Building—a livable earth building: Dongyang Building is characterized by a mansion-style design. The yin and yang of Dongyang Building and Nanyang Building complement each other, forming the meaning of "the sky is round and the place". Two years (1817). It is a huge raw earth building. The whole building is low in the front and high in the back, with distinct levels and an inner corridor-type structure. The door walls are made of very solid finely ground granite.
