This place is a 4-star hotel on Google Maps, but it is extremely, extremely, extremely bad. Be sure to avoid it! I brought an elderly person over 80 years old here. This place has no elevator, the stairs are extremely steep, and the service attitude is very poor. It was really hard for the two of us to get to the second floor from the parking lot with all our luggage. Their parking lot is very small and crowded, and the location is also awkward. You need to park in a circle around the block, and then you have to use a small key to open the door from the back door. The staff passage is very dirty and old, and there are many turns and stairs, which can make you tired. It's still the basement. All the rooms are on the second floor and above, which is especially not suitable for the elderly, pregnant women, and friends with strollers, wheelchairs, and crutches. And this place is extremely small, even smaller and more broken than the three-star hotel I stayed in yesterday.

Staff was ready to let me sleep outdoors in snow storm because i didn’t have credit card as i come from country where credit cards do not exist and my stay was paid online then they asked me for 400$ deposit , for 2 star hotel. Unreal and inhuman, if i didn’t have emergency funds I would have spent the night outside in the storm even after I paid my stay

I was up at the top of two huge flights of stairs. The walls were paper thin and I could hear every noise next door until the wee hours. Shipping trucks were clunking on the street, nobody visited my room for housekeeping once in a three-night stay, I had no fresh coffee, no fridge in room. No ice machine. The restaurant was closed, the girl at the office acted like it was a bother to do anything. It like an old, lonely, abandoned hotel.

The Halliburton was a great place to stay. Interesting rooms that were very clean. It is well located in downtown near lots of great dining and shopping and walking distance to the harbour. We liked it so much we are booked in to stay again this year.

Very nice and quaint. Close to a great music venue and lots of restaurants. A little loud in the morning from traffic and cleaning staff.

This a lovely place but it is very loud. You get the impression the owners are aware as when you check in you are advised of $50 fee if you change rooms, which seemed odd until you hear the night time noise from the parking lot. With some sound blocking curtains the problem is solved. Otherwise it is charming. No restaurant service this time of year. Lovely staff.

This very quaint and unique property is a welcome change from the more modern large hotel chains. The drawing room was particularly handsome and elegant. It was a perfect fit for us and though it was right downtown, we found it unusually quiet. We also found the staff friendly, efficient and accommodating. Our spotless room and the bed and bedding enabled us to enjoy a comfortable dreamy sleep.
Another plus was the complimentary free parking offered by this establishment…very much appreciated!
We would certainly stay at this establishment again on our next visit to Halifax!

The Halliburton is a really lovely hotel right in the middle of everything. It's got character and quality in equal measure and served as a very convenient home base for us during a brief visit to Halifax. Highly recommended.
