    Beautiful Old World Canal Area

The Nagamachi District is beautiful, probably the nicest part of Kanazawa for a stroll outside of the Castle and various gardens. As a historic district this one wont be topped. The canal area that ru...

A pleasant place for a stroll back in time

The main street in Nagamachi district is a pedestrian walkway so it is easy to stroll down the street and get a real sense of what life was like without being bothered by vehicular traffic. Walking...

It flows through the samurai residence site area

    Original Text

It was flowing through this area when I visited the ruins of samurai residences on the west side of Sakagai in Kanazawa City. I think the first purpose was agricultural water, but it was also used for daily water, and in this area, it was also used for ponds in the garden. It matched well with the surrounding scenery.
