It is the residence part of the Kurashiki residence. It's old, so it doesn't seem to be a residence now. It is a warehouse-style building located north of Fureai-dori in Kitakata, consisting of a store warehouse and a warehouse tatami room. It is the residence of the Kai family who made a fortune in the miso soy sauce brewing business starting from sake brewing, but no one lives now. In the storehouse, there is a wooden spiral staircase leading from the entrance to the second floor, and a corridor with a length of ten lengths extends to the back. Both are made of luxurious timber. It is designated as a tangible cultural property and is worth a visit.
