If you are good with stairs you can walk all the way down to the bottom (about 24 floors high) and walk back up. I kindly declined the offer as my knees were already pretty swollen as this is the last day of our tour. As with most tourist areas, it is unfriendly to elderly and physically challenged individuals.

If you take a taxi to the north gate, it can only drop you off at the tourist center. So you either pay for a sightseeing bus or walk on your own. So here comes the most cost-effective! fastest! and most convenient! detailed strategy. 1. You can take a taxi or a bus to Guichengshan Bus Station, or take a taxi to Mo'ershan Tunnel, see picture three. 2. Follow the path from Parking Lot 6 towards the inside (if you're driving, you can park directly inside the parking lot!), see pictures four and five. 3. Just walk inside, it's a bit desolate, don't be scared. When you reach the spot shown in picture six, someone will ask if you've bought a ticket. It's recommended to buy it online, 80 RMB per adult, don't pay more. There's also a man-made attraction trying to sell you tickets, but it's not necessary!! 5.
