The herbal garden was not open to the public until 1983. The rectangular nursery in the garden is still marked in detail and the plants are neatly planted by category.

Chelsea's Physical Garden is one of London's secret gardens. It was founded in 1673. It was first used to train medical apprentices. There are pharmacies in it. Volunteers introduce the functions of various herbs to tourists. A Cafe provides coffee and homemade cakes on the spot.
