The pagoda was originally built in Ming Jiajing 42 years (1563), initiated by Lu Xu (go), the chief of the criminal department, Jin Shi Feng Xu and Zhao Yi assisted, after three years, it was finally built. Lu Xuan was affected by the thought of "the root of everything in the heavens and earth", because it was called the pagoda, saying: "Zhongxiao thinks the report". At that time, the pagoda was seven floors high and 19 feet high. Qing Shunzhi 16 years (1659) collapsed, until Kangxi 28 years (1689) by Lu Yu presided over the renovation, changed seven floors to five floors, built into a pavilion-style Wenfeng tower, high 49.14 meters, flat octagonal, masonry wood structure, ladders are located within the tower wall, there are flat towers outside the tower. After more than 300 years of war and vicissitudes, the Huaxu railing has disappeared, and the tower has tilted eastwards since the 1920s and 1930s, reaching 75.5 cm. From 1989 to 2003, it was repaired three times, corrected the leaning tower body, and installed the Huayi Corridor, so that the pagoda is old, like a kind old man, standing on the shore of the East Lake. Especially in September 2002, precious cultural relics were found from the tower temple under maintenance: First, the national-level cultural relics Ming Zhenghe Yuan Platinum Powder Book "Miaofa Lotus Sutra" volume, the total length of more than 40 meters, 10 cm wide, marked the time for Ming Xuande seven years (1432), is Pinghu Jianxian two years later. The Ming Dynasty Book of "Miaofa Lianhua Sutra", was invited to participate in the National Museum of China and the Hong Kong History Museum Cultural Relics Exhibition; the second is the "Six Sutra" written by Lu Yu Kangxi in 25 years, long 3.27 meters, 17 cm wide; the third is a model of the newspaper tower made of cinnamon sand, and a symbol. Physical preservation is in the city museum. When the tower was originally built, Lu Tingting also erected five huge Taihu stones in front of the tower, called "Five Old Peaks", which is also very famous, with poems: "Where did the Qifeng come from, stand the old man five, the eyebrows are as if, the form is extremely upturned, the rain color is clear, when the air supports the pillars, the mountain gate is Yongzuo Town, and it is supported when passing by. After the renovation and expansion of the temple, the Temple of Heavenly Kings, the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, the mountain gate and the "Five Old Peaks" rockery, the "Fish Leguo" release pool, Youran Pavilion, Jingyue Mountain Villa, Zuixianju and other religious garden buildings were built.
