The base of Senshu nenbutsu
Original Text
It is a temple near Keihan Kibata Station and faces the old highway. It has a cultural property designated by Uji City, but the interior is not open to the public. It is said to be the base of Kibata Senshu Nenbutsu.
Gangyoji is a Jodo sect temple, and the principal image "Midama of Midama" and "Ishi Fudo of overnight carving" are famous. The principal image is the statue of Amida Nyorai, which is called "Midama of Midama of Midama". It is about 90 cm in size and is black. There are Seishi and Kannon Bodhisattva on the left and right.
To that extent, go to "Gangyoji"! I walked along the old Nara Highway from Rokujizo to Ujibashi. There is Kibata Station on the Keihan Train on the way, but it is a temple in the east direction. It was built in the Asuka period (around 650), and is enshrined in the wooden Amida Nyorai sitting statue (late Heian period) and the wooden Amida Nyorai sitting statue (Kamakura period). It's also fun to take a walk on the old Nara Kaido.
