Speaking of public buildings in Yokohama, the image of ginkgo and red brick is strong. It used to be an old building, but now it is cleaned with its exterior and has the inside (this is the back) as the latest building. This is very good. When you enter from the front, you feel that you naturally switch your feelings.
The "Former Yokohama Raw Silk Inspection Center" is an annex to the Second Joint Government Building in the commonly known as the Kitanaka district. It was established in 1926 (T15) for the purpose of better quality control with the raw silk trade as a trading port for a long time. The current horizontal long red brick building was completed in 1993 (H5) as a replica. Currently, the nameplate of "KITANAKA BRICK & WHITE" at the adjacent Kitanaka Tower is displayed.
A building that used to be a raw silk inspection station. Yokohama used to be a port for raw silk, and it can be seen that raw silk was an important export product as a result of such a splendid building.
