When traveling with family, Hilton is usually my top choice. Its chain operation always gives me peace of mind. The Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Hotel is incredibly close to the scenic area, and there are many dining options nearby, which is super convenient. The hotel's service is exceptional and really made us feel comfortable. They even offer complimentary hot porridge in the evenings, which is such a thoughtful touch for travelers! The breakfast spread is abundant, with different dishes every day. We especially loved their coffee, which might have been a significant reason we chose this hotel. All in all, my family and I really enjoyed our stay.

The location is excellent being at the scenic spot itself. That's a shop selling noodles buns and snacks right beside the hotel. I stayed on the 5th floor and the view was excellent. The only thing is there is no elevator and I have to climb up the flights upstairs. So it is not recommended for those who have problems climbing. You can ask to stay at level one though when you book and the owner will accommodate. They also helped to carry my luggage up and down the flight of stairs. The room is very comfortable and there's a projector where we can watch movies. There will be no more noise from the pub after 11:30 pm. There's air conditioning and heating in the room. One thing to note transport is very difficult to get from the train station to the hotel. So bad to arrange pick up and send off with the hotel beforehand. Difficulty to get transport is a norm in Phoenix ancient town.

The location is excellent, making it easy to get around. The subway entrance is right downstairs, and it's just a 5-minute walk to Wuyi Square. The hotel staff at the front desk were warm and provided excellent service. The room facilities were all in great condition. The hotel offers fully smart services, and I highly recommend everyone to stay here. The breakfast had a good variety and was clean and hygienic. This is definitely one of the must-stay hotels when visiting Changsha – truly highly recommended! The environment is also very beautiful.

Excellent hotel! 🏨 On the way here, my taxi driver knew the hotel's location instantly and mentioned its good reputation, which truly proved to be accurate after checking in. All the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Not only did they respond to every request, but they also anticipated my needs. Especially Auntie Yu from housekeeping – I spontaneously took all the shower towels and placed them under the sink when I first entered the room. The next day, to my delight, when she replaced the towels, she followed my habit and placed them all under the sink. She wasn't rigid at all, prioritizing guest comfort above everything else. Auntie Yu also knew I wasn't comfortable using the air conditioning at night – the duvet was too warm, and the duvet cover was too cool. So, she added an extra duvet cover and a small electric heater, ensuring I had a very comfortable sleep in Zhangjiajie. Also, the ladies at the front desk were incredibly thoughtful. Any minor issues with the room were fixed immediately upon reporting them. Having this hotel as part of my trip eliminated all my worries, allowing me to have fun and sleep soundly. 😃

This has to be the worst Sheraton by Marriott. The facilities are old and outdated. They started clearing dishes for breakfast before I even finished eating, which points to a management issue. There were foot massage ads prominently displayed, and the elevators are shared with other businesses, making it feel more like a small guesthouse. I could understand this if it were a different brand, but for a Marriott Sheraton, it really changes my perception of Marriott. Perhaps this is just what Marriott has become in its old age.

The hotel's environment, cleanliness, and service were all excellent! I had scheduled a shuttle to the high-speed rail station for 1:30 PM the next day, but due to a slight delay returning from Tianmen Mountain, I informed the staff that I would need to leave at 1:50 PM. They were all very accommodating and helpful. The suite was spacious and had a great view. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Zhangjiajie!

Received very good service from the hotel’s butler Lily. She helped us book the attraction tickets and explained the routes to us in detail. As we were not used to the local food. She went out of the way to help us arrange for MacDonald food delivery. I booked the executive queen room and got room 1501 on the highest floor. Room was of good size with nice view. Bed is comfortable. Only issue is the water heater needs to be fix. It was ok on my first day but it wasn’t as strong on the 2nd. I have informed the hotel to look into it. Breakfast is good

The resort is a little tricky to get to if you hire DiDi so make sure to utilize their free pickup service from airport or train station. They were very accommodating. We booked the hotel last min and they were able to arrange a driver to pick us up on the same day. Overall the stay was very comfortable and it’s located in a small village just steps away from one of the 5 entrances to the National Forest. We definitely enjoyed the small town feel. It was a nice trip to decompress after the lively, bright lights and bustling streets of Chongqing (which was also great!). The food they serve and free breakfast was very good. Will definitely stay here again when we revisit Zhangjiajie.

We had a wonderful stay at Manyuan Resort Hotel in Wulingyuan. The hotel is clean, beautiful, and within walking distance to the East Gate, making everything very convenient. We were also upgraded to a room facing the river, which made the stay even more special. Airport pick-up and drop-off were smoothly arranged, and the free laundry was a big plus for us. Breakfast was excellent with a great variety, and the fresh fruits were especially good. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Special thanks to Xiao Yuan for arranging our entire trip so smoothly, including visits to the park and Tianmen Mountain, and securing all the tickets in advance. Thank you also for the berry tea — such a thoughtful touch. I will think of you whenever I make it. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Zhangjiajie Park.

GGuest UserI normally don't like writing reviews but this hotel really deserves more attention. I'm not kidding, this hotel was super value for money and I felt the quality service surpassed even what many luxury 5*star hotels can offer. 1. Tour concierge Even before our 3d4n stay in Zhangjiajie, I contacted the hotel via WeChat and the hotel helped us plan a comprehensive travel itinerary and booked for us entrance tickets to attractions, airport transfers, a private tour guide etc for a very reasonable package price. All my questions were patiently answered and quickly by the staff. We had a great time in ZJJ without any fuss and with great peace of mind, as everything was planned for us. I felt we had a far more relaxing travel experience with a private tour guide over booking multiple daily group tours as we could travel at our own pace. Literally all we had to do was follow our tour guide. Room 2. Our room (type: Colorful Brocade Twin Room) was clean and came with a cool smart home system?! We could use it to control room temperature, lighting, curtains, tv, play music and even tell jokes. The room was fairly quiet except occasional noises in the morning, and we are light sleepers. Bed was comfortable. Only minus for me was the fact that the shower, toilet and sink area were all separated so it made changing and placing belongings tricky. Loved the free laundry service - the staff picked up our clothes at night and they were laundered and delivered to our room by the next late morning. Food 3. We got a personal warm welcome by the staff on our first night's stay. The hotel gave a complimentary afternoon tea set comprising fruits, cakes and nuts daily. The hotel also offered porridge for supper but we didn't try it. Breakfast was 7-11am and the same food daily, standard western/Chinese fare but we easily ordered other coffee nearby to supplement our breakfast. We also used ******* app to order supper daily with the hotel's number. The hotel was able to deliver the delivered food to our room through a robot. Photography with costume rental 4. I have never encountered a hotel that gave a free photography session with costume rental (no hair or makeup) but this did. I initially thought it was just an indoor studio thing but it turned out to be a full 30min photoshoot indoors and outdoors with the staff giving us instructions on poses very patiently. It felt like I was taking my engagement photoshoot again. We were pleased with the 4 edited photos and all raws. Overall service 5. The staff were really kind and professional. I felt like they were genies making our stay more worry-free as they always answered our questions patiently over WeChat and helped us with many issues. They even texted to ask what time they could deliver us the free afternoon tea which we kept forgetting about. When we checked out, they even surprised us with a goodie bag with lovely snacks and cute memorabilia! Location 6. The hotel was literally in front of the ZJJ National Forest Park Wulingyuan East entrance. Don't see how it could be more convenient Caveats: I could speak both English and Mandarin, and although the staff spoke decent English, I felt the communications were much easier when I used Mandarin to communicate in person or via WeChat (use ChatGPT or some other translator!). The smart home system also worked better with Mandarin although it understood a few languages

SSusanR1971Foggy Valley in Zhangjiajie is truly something special. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautiful and thoughtfully designed the entire property is, it feels like a true luxury retreat set right in the middle of breathtaking scenery. Our room was gorgeous, spacious, and impeccably maintained. Every detail felt thoughtful and elevated. The service was outstanding, attentive, responsive, and genuinely warm. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, from arranging transportation to making sure every request was handled seamlessly. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the tea service demonstration was a memorable highlight. We also enjoyed in room massages, which were incredibly relaxing and added to the overall experience. A special touch we loved was the animals on the property. The puppy, along with the friendly dogs and cats, brought so much charm and warmth to our stay. Foggy Valley is peaceful, luxurious, and truly memorable. We would absolutely stay here again.

AAnonymous UserOur hotel room was in the Japanese tatami style, simple, bright, and refreshing, with an unbeatable panoramic view of the Xiang River. All disposable amenities were provided, and the front desk butler and other room service staff were very responsive and excellent. The cleaning auntie also had a great attitude. The location is very convenient, situated in a popular commercial district, close to all the famous Changsha check-in spots, and surrounded by numerous food options. Taiping Street is right behind the hotel, and it's very convenient to be near IFS. We stayed for several nights, and on our last day, they even upgraded our room for free, which made for a fantastic experience!

EEduarda Carvalho[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff, both the ladies and gentlemen, were incredibly helpful! The hotel elevator goes directly to the subway station, so you don't have to worry about getting wet if it rains. Plus, it's super convenient as it's only one subway stop to Wuyi Square. The hotel is also very close to Chaozong Street, which is great for a walk. Downstairs, there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores. If I ever come back to Changsha, I'd definitely stay here again! 😇

VVieVyWe had a great stay at this hotel — it’s truly a hidden gem in Zhangjiajie. The scenery surrounding the property is absolutely breathtaking. It feels as though you’ve stepped back into ancient China, with magnificent views that create a serene and timeless atmosphere. Our room was clean, cosy, and comfortably warm, making it especially enjoyable despite the cold weather outside. The hotel also provides complimentary transport to the nearest town for dining, which is both thoughtful and convenient. For anyone planning a trip to Zhangjiajie, this boutique hotel is highly recommended for its distinctive charm and truly unique experience.

GGuest UserThe hotel was very clean overall, and the room was tidied up perfectly. The bedding was neat and odorless, and there were no water stains or smudges in the bathroom, which made me feel very comfortable staying there. All the facilities worked properly; the air conditioning and hot water were both excellent, and the bed was comfortable to sleep in. The front desk staff were super nice, and both check-in and check-out were very quick. The environment was quiet and not noisy, offering great value for money. I will definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit.

AAnonymous UserIf I could score this hotel 20 out of 5 I would. After looking at countless accommodation options around the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and its various entrance points, and reading through so many reviews, I chose this hotel and I’m so glad I did as it deserves endless compliments that I don’t know where to begin. Location - it is situated in a charming rural village very close to the Central Gate of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park which, after hours of researching, is the best entrance point in my view as there are no queues/crowds, and it is closest to the Bailong elevator whereupon there’s a direct shuttle bus within the park that takes you from the Central Gate directly to the Bailong elevator. The best part is, the hotel provides free pick up and drop off between the hotel and the Central Gate, which is a fantastic service especially if it’s dark by the time you finish exploring the park. Room - the room was spacious, clean and has the most stunning views of the karst mountains! The room has a smart system which is voice-controlled and a smart toilet, and has very thoughtful touches such as an overhead warmer/ventilation system in the shower area. The airconditioning/heater in each room is individually controlled and not part of a central system. It was great walking around the premises and breathing in fresh air, with their little onsite dog Xiao Bu Dian as a great companion. Food - whilst there aren’t many food options around given its rural location, those aren’t needed as the hotel has an onsite restaurant and the chef cooks such delicious homecooked/authentic meals, and they even use fresh vegetables grown on their premises! The free breakfast provided is also yummy! Service - last but not least, the service that all staff members at the hotel provide is excellent! Because I stayed 3 nights, they provided free pick up and drop off between the hotel and the airport/train station, and patiently waited at the train station for me upon my arrival. There are so many itineraries floating around on how to explore the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park that it’s rather overwhelming, but the staff help with planning the route to take and also with purchasing discounted tickets. The manager David also kindly offered his personal details (prior to me checking in) so that I could place my taobao orders for delivery at the hotel (most other hotels in China do not offer that service and require you to use your own details instead, which can sometimes cause issues with deliveries if parcels arrive before checking in). Unbeknownst to me when I placed my taobao orders, courier drivers do not deliver to the hotel due to its rural location, and instead drop parcels off at various collection points (some rather far from the hotel). David and his team patiently collected each one of them for me from various collection points. I even got a free room upgrade. The service of David and his team is simply unrivalled, and I’m truly grateful to them for making my stay so memorable. In conclusion, I highly recommend this hotel! You will not regret choosing to stay at this hotel!
