"- The location on Trip.com is incorrect. The hotel is actually located at Ponta da Piedade. - Daily cleaning, as stated, was not provided (the apartment was reasonably clean). - Despite the designated pool hours, they were not enforced, and the hotel staff did not intervene. There was a party at the pool at 5 AM that lasted over 2 hours, and nothing was done. - The access to the garage was very dirty. - The hotel signage was insufficient."

"Overall I would recommend this hotel! The location is perfect - it's not in town centre, but a 12 mins easy walk away - however it means you're just another 10-15 mins walk away in each direction to multiple beaches. It's closest to Praia Caldeira and Des Estudiantes (my absolute favourite!) and likewise, you can walk the other direction to Praia Dona Ana and Camilo, and the famous Ponta Da Piedade within 25 mins - no uphill! It's super close to two supermarkets (Spar and an Asian Mart) and enough restaurants nearby, or just next door to a fabulous chinese restaurant (yes, of all places!). A few imperfections with the smell, possibly not the hotel's fault and average pillows, but we'll live for c. EUR130/night. Do try to secure a room on level 2 and above. I initially got a room with twin beds on level 0 and it was noisier and smellier."

"I stopped in the town of Lagos for a day during a business trip and thought Hotel 56 was quite nice. It's a boutique design hotel, and the hotel manager told me it just opened this year. It's a renovated 200-year-old house with three floors and 22 rooms, and you can tell the hotel's decor and details show a lot of care. It was off-season, so it wasn't crowded. They close from December to February for the holidays. The front desk manager, Christopher, was very professional and patient! He talked to me a lot about local history and introduced nearby attractions and restaurants. The breakfast was à la carte, and everything was amazing. I rented a car, and after unloading my luggage at the entrance, I had to park in a parking lot a three-minute walk away."
