Hotel Palme ★★★★

"I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and always ready to offer advice on any question. They also had a great sense of humor, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. There was a great variety of delicious food, especially the pastries, which were fantastic. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. In my opinion, the location was excellent — close to the beaches, the train station, and the old town."

Hotel Baia ★★★

"Old school, authentic Italian hotel with its own charm. Really close to their private beach and the rail station (which everyone uses to access the Cinque Terre towns and the intercity train network. So it’s really convenient. Rooms are spotless and linens and towels are to a high standard. Reception is friendly and efficient. Try to speak some Italian as a courtesy to the team! We had an issue with a very noisy neighbour (floor 2) and were allocated a new room on floor 3 with a balcony overlooking the sea for a small extra charge. Near the hotel are some lovely casual restaurants and bars. Monterosso centre is a short 10 min walk along the sea front and under the tunnel. Fine dining is available in the 2 restaurants just above the tunnel on the cliff edge. Book well ahead if you want to guarantee a table. The centre is busy with tourists on walking tours but there are enough bars and restaurants to go around. The hotel provides a quiet and serene break from the busy walking routes. There are no baths in the hotel rooms we used. Toiletries are minimal. The hairdryer is in the bathroom. If this doesn’t suit you then I suggest you bring your own. No robes or slippers. The staff were very helpful though and provided a corkscrew and glasses we needed in our room. Sitting on the balcony was lovely. We had rainy weather so it was great to catch some rays when they peeped out from the clouds. Breakfast is cold continental with hams, cheeses, cereals, yogurts, breads, jams, boiled eggs and fruit. Coffees and teas of various types were available. You could also take a mug away with you to your room. All of which was more than fine for us. This isn’t the Ritz and is priced accordingly. I don’t recognise some of the criticisms raised in other reviews. Great stay but mixed weather in April so set your expectations."

"Nice hotel in a great location. Easy to walk to the beach, lots of nearby restaurants and the ferry stop. Train station close by as well. The room was nice size and the bathroom was updated. The included breakfast buffet was a nice spread with a cappuccino machine. Reasonably priced and value for what we received."

"Great location in Monterosso, just a 2 minute walk to the beach and promonade where all the restaurant and bars are. We had a great welcome from our hosts who met us outside. My partner is pregnant with twins, so they gave us a car parking space outside our accommodation and helped to carry our suitcases up to the room for us. The room was stunning with a balcony overlooking the sea! A really nice size with all ammendmenties included. Fridge, Beach Towels, Slippers, Tea and Coffee facilities and toiletries in the bathroom. There is also a communal kitchen area outside the room with a coffee maker for extra coffee and teas. This is also where breakfast is served. We took ours to our room to eat on the balcony. The room has aircon but it was very slow at cooling the room. It is best to keep the shutters and tender down in the heat of summer to try and keep the room as cool as possible during the day. There are also alot of stairs to get up to the fourth floor where the rooms are with no lift. So bare this is mind if you struggle with stairs. For us, it was good for the exercise :) Overall, we loved this place and location and would definitely stay again! Great pizza restaurant below the appartment and a big car park across the street for parking."

Hotel Porto Roca ★★★★

"This is a beautiful hotel with a beautiful view. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious with local specialties as well as the usual . We had a tiny deck with a small view, but all rooms are different. Only issue was with sand flys that bit my ankles while sitting on the deck."
