The hotel is a good hotel in the local area ~ but it was difficult for the manager to lock the room type and the hotel to do not match the hotel ~ I waited for three hours at the front desk of the hotel, and changed the service staff to deal with ~ which greatly affected the experience mood. But the hotel spa is very comfortable ~ you can experience it.

the location was perfect with the river flowing along and rooms were good , it’s overly priced for the amenities you get in return and there is a lot to improve on food and internet ( especially breakfast buffet) where the dishes are not filled in the buffet and a very limited breakfast menu and it’s hardly tasty. The staff are undoubtedly friendly but lot needs to be improved w.r.t food options and internet connectivity was very bad even in the lobby … Spa is one of the highlights of the property, the therapists are really professional

Paro|5.71km from city center
The positive thing, the location is very nice, right at the riverside. Now the negative… for starters, staff at the reception, especially those boys, needs more training on how to handle guest requests. Their attitude is not helpful, borderline rude sometimes. One staff tells you something and a minute later you hear exactly the contradictory thing from another staff. Very confusing and frustrating. Don’t expect 5 star service here …  Let’s move on to the amenities. The rooms are simple and clean, but very outdated, the floor queaks and you clearly hear footsteps from above.  Then there is the spa… first of all, you need to inform them 20-30 mins before you want to use the sauna in order for the staff to turn it on. Then the steam room had really dirty floor which a kinda of unknown black gluey thing sticking to your feet, kinda disgusting. When I told the spa staff about it, then they just ignored it.  Finally, the food in the one and only restaurant, last recipe, was „underwhelming“, if you want it said in a polite way. The pizza dough was still raw when it was served to us.  I wouldn’t stay in this hotel again but I guess this is your only choice if you want a safe option besides Aman or Six Senses.

Zhiwaling Heritage is the property in Bhutan to be wholly Bhutanese owned and operated. We are also the only property in Bhutan to be certified as one of the unique lodges by National geographic. From our exterior adorned with intricately carved woodwork and traditional stone work, to our interior embellished with hand-painted murals and traditionally hand carved Bhutanese motifs, our hotel pays homage to the ‘Dzongs’ or fortresses of Bhutan, showcasing the country’s rich and unique architectural heritage. Zhiwaling seamlessly blends our traditional roots with modern comforts. The hotel is equipped with Swedish technology underfloor heating and electric golf carts to whisk guests’ luggage to the rooms located in the eight cottages, named after each of the ‘Eight Lucky Signs’. Each sign or symbol represents a specific aspect of Buddhist teachings and is believed to bring blessings and good fortune to those who encounter them.

We, a family of 6, 2 senior citizens, 2 adults, 1 9 yr kid and 1 infant stayed in khamsum thimpu and khamsum paro in april 2024 end. Their manager mrs. Usmita was very cordial during our stay. The rooms given to us were fantastic. Being a veg hotel, amazing jain food was easily available at their restaurant. For a few local dishes, mars usmita actually went out of the menu and made us enjoy the delicacies. (for jains like me, there is a veg cafe named mountain cafe, very close by at both places which even has a jain / vegan menu) mrs usmita helped arrange for one of the best hot stone baths in paro for all of us. My 9 year kid too enjoyed it a lot. Absolute value for money hotel. A must book place for jain, vegan and vegetarian travellers.

Nestled in an idyllic setting, our hotel offered a personal balcony that opened up to breathtaking views of the serene countryside. Evening strolls through the charming paro market were just a short walk away, adding a touch of local culture to our stay. The hotel is exclusively vegetarian, but with numerous nearby restaurants, non-vegetarians will find plenty of options to savor. Our overall experience was truly wonderful, a perfect blend of comfort and beauty.

The location and the look of the property was very quaint. We went in the winter so the paddy fields all around were barren, as the harvest season was over … but we could imagine how beautiful it would have looked when the fields were lush green! The decor of the space emulates a traditional village house. The old block and the new block upper floor rooms look more authentic than the ground floor rooms! However, the upper floor rooms are more colder and are not the best for the winter months! The room furniture and decor was a bit basic and could have been better curated. The rooms in the new blocks in the ground floor could have been a bit better for the price! We felt a little restricted with the breakfast menu. As a person with diabetise, I did not find much food options. The menu offered was too narrow and restrictive. Only watermelon, eggs, bread n butter, and a choice of Aloo puri or Aloo paratha and tea or coffee. For the price this was too basic a choice. Also, the last time to serve breakfast was 9am, which can be a problem if you are not an early riser! It should be atleast extended to 10am, if not 10:30am! One major problem was a lack of running hot water. It took almost 3min for the heater to warm up even after turning it on for a long time! One had to keep the tap open for a while before hot water started flowing. It’s a huge waste of water. Also, the supply was patch and the water will turn cold every once in a while. It a winter country, inconsistent hot water supply can be a big problem. The staff were compliant but not very engaging! Overall an average experience!!
