1-Day Tongliao Trek: Grasslands to Khan Mountain

The Horqin Grassland in eastern Inner Mongolia is not a scenic spot, but a vast and boundless grassland. The Khan Mountain Tourist Scenic Spot in Huolin Gol City is located at the foot of Guanyin Mountain. On the top of the mountain are giant statues of Yuan Taizu Genghis Khan and Yuan Shizu Kublai Khan, and there are more than 800 warrior statues below the mountain, which is very spectacular. Xiaozhuang Manor Cultural Tourism Zone, located in Horqin Zuoyizhongqi, Tongliao City, takes Prince Darhan's Mansion, the former residence of Empress Borzijit of Xiaozhuangwen in Qing Dynasty (the grandmother of Emperor Kangxi) as the core attraction. It consists of more than a dozen scenic spots, such as the Gadamelin Memorial Hall, Darhan Barracks, Baita Temple, Bailong Lake, Horqin and the Oath of Houjinmeng. Here, tourists can learn more about the life of the mother of the Qing Dynasty and her little-known story. The core attraction of Xiaozhuang Manor, "the former residence of Xiaozhuang - Prince Darhan's Mansion", was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 400 years. This is the birthplace of Queen Wen of Xiaozhuang. Emperor Kangxi visited Horqin three times in his life to pay homage to his grandmother, and feasted all Mongolian villagers here, and wrote the famous poem "To Horqin Department and All Mongolian Banquets". The original palace was completely destroyed during the land reform in the last century. The palace that tourists see today was rebuilt in 2008. The entire building is made of blue bricks, gray tiles and wood, using ancient grinding bricks with seams, painting, gold sticking, and ground poles. and other traditional crafts. The palace adopts a traditional central axis-symmetric architectural style. When tourists are playing, they can walk forward along the axis.
