SSHAI 11One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Everything is excellent, from the location, the facilities, the rooms, the staff, to the breakfast, and above all, the highest level of service I've ever encountered. Highly recommended and I will undoubtedly return here on my next visit to Athens.
JJinjidelanlanEverything about the hotel was great. The hygiene was good, the front desk was always staffed, and the facilities were excellent and new. The only issue was the neighborhood; around dusk, there were a lot of suspicious-looking people near the city center, which is a major safety concern in Athens due to serious theft and robbery. However, as long as you're careful and return before dark, it's fine. I really liked the hotel itself. There's also a beautiful rooftop terrace with amazing views.
TTAN1. Love it clean, quiet, quiant, side view of sea and port or small marina (can't tell at night because we checked in late night and left very early the next morning). But lovely. Wish had time to walk. 2. Clean room. 3. When we arrived and saw the dinner buffet which looked good, regretted not getting the half board. But we ordered from their restaurant a la carte menu and it was delicious! 4. One thing to improve is to cover the light on the aircon and the light on the TV, we could find no way to switch off the TV. We are light sleepers so the light which may not disturb others disturbed us a little bit but we put black tape over the TV but could not climb high up to aircon. 5. Too bad we did not have time to use gym or have breakfast there - another regret but front desk Evi helped arrange a breakfast bag for us to take away. If you're checking out early like us, ask for breakfast bags to take away and they gladly oblige. However, food in the breakfast bag is not as nice as having breakfast in the hotel :( I saw none of the items reviewers talked about but I told myself it is ok because they packed before breakfast hours. To get our money's worth, I must eat their breakfast in future.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is super convenient. You can take the X93 bus directly from the airport to the Gephyra bus stop, which is the same place as the Koto Patisia metro station. The hotel is just a block away across the street once you get off, so the location is fantastic. Taking the bus is even easier than the metro.
I was pleasantly surprised the moment I opened the door. The room was very spacious, and the facilities were new and well-equipped, with two balconies, one at the front and one at the back. The kitchen even had cookware.
There are plenty of supermarkets and bakeries nearby.
The only slight annoyance was having to fill out personal details to get the check-in code for the apartment, and I wasn't thrilled about having to use their specific payment method for the few euros due upon arrival.
SStevenpilotI don't know why I see people giving negative reviews for only giving a bottle of water. In Europe, you generally drink tap water, and hotels also tell you that the water can be drank directly from the tap.
Except that the location of this hotel is not very central (but it is within walking distance to everything, including the subway station), everything else is good.
Rooms away from the street may not be very quiet, but they are still within the acceptable noise range. The air conditioner in the room is cooling normally and the wind noise is very small.
The supplies are complete, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, slippers, etc. Facilities and cleanliness are great, international standards. first rate service. Pillows come in two sizes, high and soft or hard and thin. Many star hotels have to ask housekeeping to deliver them. Very plus.
Overall, I paid $90 (including 10 euro city tax) for one night, which was a great value. The room itself has a value of $150-180. (As long as you are willing to walk an extra 10 minutes)
SS MathewA very good hotel to stay when travelling with kids. We were given an amazingly large room. The roof top breakfast bar was amazing, in terms of the view and food.
Note: Another family who booked with us (with just 1 kid), for a slightly cheaper price, were given a much smaller, shabbier room with ground floor breakfast options which was not too good. So make sure you have clarity on that before confirming the booking.
CCFDOlympus Residence is a comfortable and modern place to stay in Athens. The apartment is spacious, clean, and equipped for a short stay. Just starting to show some age but the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and having kitchen and laundry facilities was a definite plus.
The location is in a pleasant, quiet neighbourhood. Most of Athens’ major attractions, including Syntagma Square and the Acropolis, are around 1.5–2 km away. This was a good walk for us, but travellers with limited mobility or those wanting to be right in the heart of the action may prefer somewhere closer.
There were a few areas that could be improved. Communication before arrival was disappointing. I contacted the property several times to ask about the possibility of an early check-in, but several messages went unanswered, including a call to the listed emergency number. I eventually received a response only after sending a text message to that number. Better communication would make the arrival experience much smoother.
The kitchen was functional, but the utensils and cooking equipment were very basic. Anyone planning to prepare more than simple meals may find the kitchen somewhat limited.
Overall, despite the communication issues and the basic kitchen setup, the apartment was clean, comfortable, and offered good value. With a few improvements, particularly in guest communication, it would be an excellent place to stay.
JJtownAthens Airport has long been my gateway between Ireland and Israel, and Sofitel is the only real comfortable option for an overnight layover. The location is unbeatable — you just walk out of the terminal, cross three zebra crossings, and you’re in the lobby.
The hotel is definitely 5-star and feels it in cleanliness and comfort. The room was spotless and quiet, and I appreciated the complimentary coffee and water. However, prices are steep. Normally it’s around €400 per night for two adults and a child, though I managed to book midweek for about half that. Still expensive, but I wanted comfort — and got it.
The booking didn’t clearly confirm if an extra bed was included for my child, and neither Trip nor the hotel replied to my message, though we did get the bed in the end without extra charge. Breakfast is not included in the high price, and €30 per person felt excessive, so we skipped it. Also, food options are overpriced — €22 for a “Greek salad” that oddly came with ricotta. We ended up getting Burger King from the terminal, much better value.
The indoor pool was clean but the water was colder than expected and the size modest. The shower had fluctuating warm water, a small annoyance but tolerable for one night.
Overall: great convenience and comfort for an airport hotel, but pricing for food and extras feels unreasonable.
JJonesEdwardOur first trip to Europe, so there were things that I imagine are very European. Tiny elevators and key card access to power your room were a first for us. We were only there for one night before leaving on a cruise, but overall I was very happy with our stay. The front desk check in was excellent and the breakfast spread was outstanding. The loud returning guest at 1:30 in the morning were the only irritant, and that was bad guests and not the hotels fault.
