The room was clean and tidy, and although the facilities were a bit old, everything worked perfectly. The hotel also boasts a swimming pool, spa, and other amenities, and the breakfast spread was quite extensive, though it did get a bit crowded in the mornings.

Safe, clean, and a good breakfast, but the room was a bit small. The prices are unstable, and there's a situation where Ctrip increases them. I couldn't directly extend my stay for the same room type on Ctrip and had to negotiate with the front desk, but thankfully they were generally accommodating. Safety is definitely the most important thing when you're abroad, so I'd still recommend it.

The hotel was clean, and breakfast was decent. However, when I checked in after 6 PM, the room hadn't been fully cleaned yet, and housekeeping staff were still coming and going, delivering items. There also seemed to be a large number of Indian guests. After 1 AM, a man, two women, and two children in the adjacent room were still being very noisy. Knocking on their door to ask them to quiet down didn't work, and when I called the front desk to address it, they didn't seem to take it seriously. This severely disrupted my sleep.

My stay at Rixos Almaty in the Deluxe Twin Room with Park View was exceptional. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered a stunning view of the park, which added a peaceful ambiance to my stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The hotel staff were highly attentive and friendly, delivering excellent service from check-in to check-out. The hotel’s facilities, including the spa and fitness center, were top-notch and provided a luxurious touch to the experience. The breakfast was also impressive, with a wide array of delicious local and international dishes. Overall, my stay was nothing short of fantastic, and I would highly recommend Rixos Almaty for anyone visiting the city.

Hotel in downtown. Cable car To go up to little mountain is 50m away. Good restaurants in the top Inzhu. Close French restaurant call “ Benoit “ with incredible wines ! Novotel hotel airport service was unfortunately not a good experience at all.he came very late and the car inside smell smoking. They waived the fee and gave 10% discount voucher on restaurant bill. Good room for improvement in customer service from hospitality manager. Even with my official complain by email, they did not responded until I came to the front desk and ask to speak with a manager. Good breakfast.

Great hotel in convenient location. Had spent the previous 3 weeks travelling the Silk Road and trekking in Kyrgyzstan so some luxury was welcome. Ideally would have preferred a swimming pool but the top storey jacuzzis were a treat. Only quibble was that there were no toiletries in the bathroom when we arrived other than shampoo and shower gel dispensers which were riveted to the wall of the shower. When I asked for hair conditioner I was informed that it was not available for basic rooms. It would have been so easy for them to have given me the hair conditioner and then receive a 10/10 rating but they were quite obstinate in refusing to do so.

It is located centrally, enabling travellers to have easy assess to connecting public bus services, subways, walking distance to nearby eateries, restaurants, the famous Green Bazaar and the sceneic, spacious park that housed the famous Zenkov Cathedral! All the staffs were amazing, from the frontline to the housekeeping and managers on duty. They communicated well, speak good English, and were extremely patient and helpful in answering my questions about the hotel facilities, going to certain places, etc. Although the breakfast food selection is not much, it was still outstanding - the bread were fresh, the coffee selection is excellent, fresh cut fruits, and these were sufficient to fill my appetite during my stay for the breakfast! I would definitely recommend travellers and visitors to Almaty to consider staying at the Grand Tien Shan hotel, its a ”GRAND” feeling you wouldn't want to miss! Enjoy!

Very satisfied! Although it looks a bit dated, it's clean, well-equipped, and has a strong Soviet feel. The hotel food is plentiful, and transportation is convenient, with excellent bus connections right outside. It's not far from the airport either, less than a 30-minute drive. Plus, there's an elegant coffee shop on the first floor – fantastic!

Booked this hotel because it was near to the airport, and being only 20 minutes away made for a great stopover between flights. That said, the hotel itself has plenty to offer. The rooms are nice and clean. We actually had an issue where we had too much hot water which is sort of the opposite problem of what you'd expect. The staff were friendly and helpful. They also had plenty of water coolers around to refill bottles, which is a nice touch not all hotels would offer. We didn't use the pool, but we saw that it was large and plenty of people were using it. Breakfast was simple, but did enough to cover all the bases. All in all, would recommend a stay here. Especially if you're looking for somewhere near the airport to crash.

What a fantastic experience for a business trip! The hotel boasts a modern exterior and a chic, tasteful interior that immediately sets a relaxing tone. Rooms are thoughtfully designed to be warm and comfortable, fully equipped with all amenities. The plush bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a deep and restful sleep. Complimentary, high-speed Wi-Fi is available in both public areas and rooms, perfect for streaming videos without interruption. The guest rooms are impeccably clean, with fresh towels and toiletries replenished daily. Rooms are spacious and well-lit; pulling back the curtains reveals beautiful city views. The in-room air conditioning worked perfectly, providing a wonderfully cool and comfortable environment for sleeping. The room's decor is simple yet elegant, and the comfortable bedding guaranteed a peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom is spotless, and the ample hot water made for a refreshing shower experience. The in-room Wi-Fi signal was stable and fast, making it easy to share my trip highlights with family and friends anytime.

Our stay at Ritz-Carlton Almaty was exceptional, in fact our fav part of the city as tourists. The best part was the warm service from the staff, in particular thanks to Yekaterina (Kate), Malika, and concierge lady. Kate was welcoming and informative upon check in. Guest service staff Malika gave us attentive care throughout our stay and accommodated our preferences, which truly enhanced our experience in the country. Concierge lady gave us comprehensive advice on where to visit. The view from both our room and the Sky Lounge was unparalleled. Snow-capped mountains framed the landscape, offering a mesmerizing backdrop that undoubtedly ranks among the best in Almaty. Will definitely come back here if we’re back in the city.

The location is very good, in a quiet place in the city center. Just over 1 km walk to the north is the Ascension Cathedral and 28 Warriors Park, about 1 km walk to the west and south is the Central Museum, and less than 1 km walk to the east and south is the Peak Tram Station. The room is also very good. Although it is old, the equipment is well maintained. The wash basin, shower head, and toilet are all very useful and do not look dilapidated. I like their swimming pool and gym the most. The pool water is clear and the fitness equipment is very good.

If you are in Almaty, the best place undoubtedly is Swissotel. It's a beautiful and most stunning resort without a doubt, spread over a few kilometers, with a golf course, lake, woods etc. You can actually spend a couple of days just being there relaxing. This was my 2nd visit to this property in the last 6 months and is in my itenary once every year to experience Almaty and Swissotel. Prior to this I have stayed I have stayed twice in another top brand of the world, but believe me, there is nothing better than Swissotel. My stay at the hotel once again was truly exceptional! The atmosphere is relaxing, elegant, and filled with genuine hospitality. Every detail — from the welcoming smiles at reception to the peaceful ambiance of the thermal area — shows how much care goes into every guest’s experience. Every area and facility in the resort is top class - gym, spa..... And the pool is a combination of amazing experiences. A special mention to Manager Karina, who did her job with excellence and professionalism. I called up the hotel from India for check in formalities and Karina organised it for me and my friends in a flash. She is always on top of everything, ensuring every guest feels special and well taken care of. Her attention to detail and warm attitude perfectly represent the spirit of this hotel. The whole team deserves praise for creating such a wonderful and memorable atmosphere. This place is a true gem and a MUST stay

Because the windowed rooms skyrocketed in price and were fully booked, I switched to a windowless room. The windowless rooms are those on the fifth floor and higher where the windows are blocked by newly constructed club facilities outside. The room layout was exactly like the photos, but the window was completely blocked. It's livable, but please improve the Wi-Fi; various Chinese websites kept failing to connect. The breakfast was the same as half a month ago, a mix of Chinese and Russian. The bathroom ceiling leaked because the person upstairs' laundry overflowed, flooding the floor. The maintenance staff, who also spoke Chinese, explained that it couldn't be compared to domestic standards but still fixed the problem, which I understand. Finally, because even the windowless rooms' prices had skyrocketed, I reluctantly switched hotels. And then, at checkout, they said they found cigarette butts during cleaning two days prior and wanted to fine me for smoking???? I've never smoked a single cigarette in my life; this honestly made me laugh out of anger. I even said, 'Do you want to search my luggage? Don't blame me for your own poor cleaning,' before they let me go, and not even an apology.

This was the first hotel we stayed at in Kazakhstan, and also the one we were most satisfied with. The room was very clean and tidy. Upon arrival, they immediately added a crib for us and provided children's toiletries. The receptionist was very patient, and the housekeeping staff greeted us with a smile as soon as they saw us. The breakfast was also the most plentiful and delicious of all the hotels we stayed at. One slight drawback was that we were switched rooms the second day for the same type of room. It seemed that the bathroom was located near the elevator or something, and there was a constant noise from a machine running. Otherwise, it was quite good, and it was very convenient to stay here while exploring Almaty.

The only blemish, if one could call it that, was that we were assigned a room with twin single beds instead of the queen bedroom that was booked. Also, the water hose in the bathroom did not work well. I suspect that the trigger was jammed due to the hard water. Apart from that, everything else was quite good. I genuinely didn't expect this hotel to be so spacious, even though it's underground. The open-plan areas are quite large, and there's a big dining hall where you can choose from over ten dishes for breakfast every morning, which is pretty nice. What I liked most, though, was its hostel-style design. They've taken a large room and divided it into many private sections with sliding doors, so everyone gets their own individual space, offering great privacy.

The location is excellent, with a famous Kazakh restaurant right downstairs, which was a great experience. It's very convenient to get to the pedestrian street and business center. The hotel facilities are among the best in Almaty, and the breakfast is plentiful. Although the room rate is higher than what you'd typically find domestically, for business travel, the cleanliness and safety of a chain hotel are relatively more guaranteed.

Great for solo traveller for a few days, has everything you need and just a short walking distance from plenty of parks, malls the centres a bit of a trek but very easy to get cabs from the main street. Very secure, felt safe! Would stay again.

This place was all right, but definitely missing some key things. Pros: close to everything with a CU and mini market around the corner. Scandalista bar and restaurant next door makes awesome cocktails (food was okay as well). Cons: TV didn't seem to work (took me about 20 minutes to make it functional). Toilet stopped flushing at some point, so I went to call the front desk, only to discover that the room phone didn't work 😂. Housekeeping ”cleaned” the room, but only cleaned the toilet after a special request. Overall, if you're on a tight budget, I think the room was fine for the money, but if you're willing/able to spend a bit more, I'd recommend going somewhere else for a stay in Almaty.
