Things to Do at Aquaria KLCC

Aquaria KLCC offers both a fun and educational experience for the entire family. Here are some things you can do while you're at the aquarium.

1. Exhibits

Tourists looking at exhibits in Aquaria KLCC

Aquaria KLCC is split up into several exhibits:

● Evolution Zone

● The Stream

● Shipwreck

● Deep Forest

● The Coast

● Living Ocean

● Station Aquarius

● Weird and Wonderful

You and your family can spend an entire afternoon going through each exhibit, learning about the different ecosystems and the amazing organisms that live there. These exhibits make great photo opportunities, as they're set up with excellent lighting for magical pictures.

2. Guided Tour

People in underwater tunnel

Booking a guided tour can be an outstanding way to get a personal look at the aquarium. The tours are given in English, and the guides will show you around Aquaria KLCC, explaining each exhibit to you. They'll tell you interesting information that you won't find on the placards! They'll also be happy to answer any questions you and your kids might have.

3. Moving Walkway

Underwater tunnel in Aquaria KLCC

Aquaria KLCC has the longest underwater tunnel in all of Asia. The moving walkway will take you across 295 feet (90m) and it'll give you a close look at underwater life. You'll see sand tiger sharks, giant groupers, green sea turtles, and more marine animals you'll see in Malaysian waters.

In addition, you'll gaze upon an authentic shipwreck model in the water. Try to spot which creatures have made a home in it...

4. Touch Zone

Close-up of a seahorse

Get a hands-on experience at the touch zone or Gene Pool. The entire family can (gently!) touch and pick up sea creatures like starfish, horseshoe crabs, sea cucumbers, and bamboo sharks. This gives everyone the chance to admire some incredible sea creatures up close and personal.

5. Dive with Sharks

Divers underwater with a shark

This activity is reserved for certified divers. You'll get to dive into the aquarium's oceanarium tank to swim with 5 species of sharks and other marine life.

The package includes dive gear, as well as a Dive With Sharks t-shirt and certificate. An absolute must for experienced sea-explorers.

6. Cage Rage

People diving underwater in a cage

For those who are adventurous, go face-to-face with sharks and other sea creatures in the aquarium's custom-made underwater cage. You'll stay safe behind the glass window as you meet some of the ocean's iconic predators.

When you buy the package, not only will you get a unique experience, but you'll also get a Cage Rage t-shirt and certificate to remember it by!

7. Feeding Show

Fish in underwater tunnel

Aquaria KLCC has a professional aquarist who hand-feeds the marine life here. Make sure you catch the daily feeding shows, as you'll get to learn about these creatures and what role they play in their environments and habitats.

8. Discovery Hunt

People looking at a jellyfish exhibit

If your kids enjoy treasure hunts, then they'll have fun with the Discovery Hunt at Aquaria KLCC! This is a 30-minute race for kids 6 or older.

They'll go around the aquarium, looking for clues. If they're successful, they'll win mystery prizes at the end.

This is a fantastic way to get your children excited about learning about all things oceanic.

9. Sleep with Sharks

Sharks in underwater tunnel at Aquaria KLCC

This is a once-in-a-lifetime program for kids between 6 and13 years old. They'll get to stay overnight in the aquarium and see how sharks and other marine life behave at night. The program includes a Discovery Hunt, animal interaction and workshop activities, feeding shows, and science experiments.

Things to Note at Aquaria KLCC

Because Aquaria KLCC is centrally located, it's easy to get to. You can drive and park in the KL Convention Center or Suria KLCC. Do note that you'll have to pay to park.

You can also take a taxi or GrabCar and have the driver drop you off at the KL Convention Center. There will be an escalator that takes you to the concourse level, where you can walk to the main entrance of the aquarium.

There are also KL HOP-ON HOP-OFF buses in town, as well as regular bus services. Any of these will drop you off at the KL Convention Center.

If you're coming from somewhere further and you're taking the train, you'll want to exit at the KLCC Station, Bukit Bintang Station, or the Raja Chulan Station. These all have pedestrian walkways that lead to the KL Convention Center.

If you have a family member who needs a wheelchair, you'll be pleased to know that Aquaria KLCC has them available for rent. There are ramps and an elevator on the premises, so you can bring a stroller along for your children too.

The room was quite spacious which included a king size bed. Great location considering it is next to Pavillion mall and near to MRT station too. Great place for couples. We had a genuinely awesome stay at the Royale Chulan. The hotel's fantastic location, excellent breakfast, and responsive management made our trip memorable. Highlights: Outstanding Location & Access: The hotel offers incredibly easy access to the Conlay MRT station, making it a perfect base for exploring Kuala Lumpur. It's also just a short walk down the road to Pavilion Bukit Bintang, putting you right in the heart of the action. Navigating Bukit Bintang and the Golden Triangle by foot or MRT was effortless. Fantastic Breakfast Spread: The breakfast was a real highlight. The spread was fantastic, with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes—a great way to start the day. Excellent Service Recovery: While we experienced a power outage on our first night, the hotel management handled it superbly. To compensate for the inconvenience, the manager offered us a late check-out, which we greatly appreciated.

I really enjoyed this place. The location is strategic—easy access to KLCC—and there’s even a convenience store right next door. The view is amazing, with a clear sight of the KLCC Tower and Petronas. The room is tidy, and the cleaning service keeps it spotless every day. Such a pleasant stay!

Compared to other hotels in Kuala Lumpur, this one isn't particularly outstanding. However, it's clean, the location is good, and the service is decent. In summary, the price is a bit higher than some of the more popular, 'influencer-friendly' hotels, and the rooms aren't very spacious, lacking Instagrammable spots. Its main advantage is the excellent location. It's very convenient to walk to Alor Street, Sun Fong Bak Kut Teh, seafood restaurants, and various shopping malls. Right across the street is Sungei Wang Plaza, which is also the main station for the sightseeing bus, making it incredibly convenient.

Booked the Premier Room for my stay between 20th & 23rd of December. The hotel has 28 floors, but room was given at the 13th floor, so that's a little unfortunate as I had requested for a high floor. Beds are comfortable and clean. Room is spacious and the bathroom is equally roomy, though the shower cubicle is a little small. Views from the room aren't great, overlooking the construction of Pavilliion Square and another commercial building. Thankfully, there weren't any construction noises heard during our stay. On the bright side, at this time of year, you can vier the sunrise from your room, so I guess that's the silver lining. When it comes to meals, the breakfast buffet options are... okay. Highlights of the breakfast buffet are its Live Egg Station and baked goods. Lunch and Dinner a la carte menu are much better, as seen in the images. My friend and I ordered Assam Laksa (which is their recommendation) and the Softshell Crab Aglio Olio. Both dishes are very flavourful and comforting, but can be a little spicy. Cocktail and alcohol options are comprehensive so its worth checking it out too. Overall, its delicious and competitively priced to its surrounding shopping malls. Given there's an event at KLCC at that time, this was a strong consideration factor for why we chose this hotel. Proximity to Farenheit88, The Starhill, and Lot10 shopping malls are within a 15 mins walk. Proximity to KLCC is also about the same duration. You can even walk to Berjaya Times Square or The Exchang TRX, though that would take you about 20-25 mins and you're recommended to take Grab or public transport. Overall a very good stay for 3 nights and competively priced per night. Recommend for any travellers whose plan are to shop or attend conventions and events at KLCC.

Basic clean room suitable for tourists as a transit hub due to its strategic location. It was my favorite choice of accommodation in KL. Nonetheless, sadly, in the recent months till to-date, it was noted that many trans in this hotel as a hub for their activities ! I am sure the management must be aware of such happenings but condoned to it. There is a need to step up compliance, before the image of this hotel got tarnished as a tourist class standard.

Strategic location if you want to shop along Jalan TAR. Just below the hotel. Plenty of choices of breakfast spread with self service coffee machine. I booked deluxe room (twin bed) with KL tower view and get the view. Ask for higher level if you want better view. You can get 3 landmark (118 Merdeka, KL Tower & Petronas Twin Tower at Rooftop restaurant, beside the pool.

We enjoyed our stay at Oakwood Hotel. The room was spacious and even came with a small living area, which made it feel extra comfortable. The toilet was large too, with a separate bathtub and standing shower. Hot water worked perfectly and the water pressure was strong – definitely a plus. There was also a pantry area equipped with filtered water, an electric kettle, and a microwave, which was very convenient. The hotel has a pool as well, though our schedule was too packed to fully utilise it. One thing to note is that the TV could use an upgrade, as the image wasn’t very sharp and the colours sometimes shifted. It didn’t affect us much since we were mostly on our phones anyway. Another minor downside is that the lift doesn’t go to B1, where most of the parking lots are, so it requires a bit of extra walking. Overall, a comfortable and well-equipped stay with great room space and facilities. Would consider returning!

Great amenities and staff, but hygiene and poor Wi-Fi Pros: Comfort: Very soft mattress, effective blackout curtains, and a comfortable work chair. Amenities: The room is well-equipped with an iron, ironing board, and hairdryer. I really appreciated the water purifier and capsule coffee machine. Service & Hygiene kits: Polite staff, good room service. High-quality toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, razor). Cons: Hygiene: This was the biggest disappointment. There were feces smeared on the wall right next to the toilet. This is absolutely unacceptable; housekeeping clearly failed here. Internet: This is the first hotel in KL that disappointed me with the internet. Speeds were low: 10–25 Mbps in public areas and only 5–15 Mbps inside the room. Noise: Very poor soundproofing. You can hear everything from the corridor, especially loud door slamming. Maintenance: The wardrobe door didn't close properly, and some power sockets had loose contacts.

Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur – A Wonderful Stay in the Heart of the City The hotel is beautifully located in the Golden Triangle, just across from Pavilion KL, with stunning views of the Petronas Twin Towers. It’s slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of Bukit Bintang, yet still close enough for easy access — a perfect balance between convenience and tranquility. Upon check-in, guests are offered a selection of incense and essential oils for their room — a lovely and thoughtful personal touch. We stayed in the Signature Banyan Retreat, which was cozy, comfortable, and came with all the amenities you’d expect, plus a beautiful view of KL’s night skyline. We did encounter a minor issue on our first night when the room’s light switches stopped working, including the master switch. The maintenance engineer arrived promptly, even though it was close to midnight, and quickly resolved the issue with a system reset. Really appreciate how efficient and polite he was! We also dined at Torito, the hotel’s Peruvian-Japanese restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The ceviche clásico is a must-try — so refreshing and full of flavor. The lomo saltado featured perfectly cooked medium-rare beef tenderloin, and the stone ceviche, a warm twist on the classic, was equally impressive. Unfortunately, we were too full to try dessert, but the attentive service made the meal memorable. Special thanks to Izat (Front Desk), Hakim (Breakfast), and all the other staff members whose names we didn’t catch, for their warmth, patience, and genuine hospitality. Their friendly smiles and willingness to help made our stay at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur truly enjoyable.

I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the area, and I absolutely love it! The convenience of having a parking space right next to the hotel for just RM12 per day is fantastic. The only minor downside was a slightly musty smell in the room, but it was manageable. The shower pressure could be a bit stronger, but everything else was quite convenient. I would definitely consider staying here again, especially since my dad really values convenient parking! Please note that the ironing facilities are shared, and the iron may not get very hot. Additionally, the toiletries provided are quite basic, so remember to bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush.
