This was a great find, decent size room, we had a private bathroom, rooms are clean & overall good value for money, free tea/coffee station & cold water refills which I always find is a massive positive!! Had a great time at this boutique hotel. It’s relatively new and adopt a very interesting design concept. They only have 10 rooms I think. The landscaping around the hotel was really nice. The location of this place is in Tanah Rata, so it’s not as crowded as Brinchang, also it’s not as congested in terms of traffic. You only get one car park per room. It’s situated right at the end of the street, quite secluded and very private.
There’s no one waiting during check in, basically, you text a number and someone comes out to give you keys to your room and ask for breakfast selection for the following morning. All communication was done through the WhatsApp. We also asked for extra towels and shampoo, owners were very courteous and generous.
Felt very safe for my family with young children could just roam around freely. In terms of amenities, there’s no swimming pool or gym facilities. But there’s a place to do bbq and gather in the common area. They give you the auto gate lock if you were to drive out and come back late at night, you can allow yourself in and lock the gate yourself.
In the morning you can hear very loud bird chirping. The air was very fresh! But we were awoken by the loud noise of grass trimming from next door, some government office. There’s also a dormitory next door and you can hear evening prayers.
Nearby, there’s a lot of shops and restaurants whereby you will find no problems settling your meals, about 5 mins walk down to the Main Street.
Just a few things to note :
- There’s a lot of stairs and if you have elderly in your entourage, it is not very convenient getting to the room. You may ask for ground floor rooms of course. The stairs worked super well for my children though, they just enjoyed going up and down so much!
- We booked loft rooms. The toilet and bath tub is located next to the main door. It’s open concept, meaning if you were to take a shower at night or go to toilet, it’s going to be cold.
- The beds are on the top floor, so if you need the bathroom in the middle of the night, you have to walk down the stairs.
- The bathtub and shower design is not so convenient for young children or elderly.
- Breakfast comes in very cute tiffin boxes. They place it outside your door around 8 plus. However, I always couldn’t catch their delivery on time, and most times the food is rather cold already.
Overall, I still enjoyed my stay very much. I think would very suitable for young couples, and groups of young travelers.From$68

Service is okay, cleanliness is so so, there is a bird's nest in front of the house.. a lot of bird droppings.. water heater changed 2 times because it broke. Others are satisfactory.. go to the night market, no need to find parking, just walk..From$26

|3.22km from city centerCopthorne hotel is my go to hotel whenever I'm visiting CH but this time I'm so disappointed with this hotel. The room we stayed at 10th floor look so dusty and uninviting. Looks like they didn't even vacuum the room and the ceiling, bersawang! Buka kipas kuat habis terbang sawang2. Horror!
Air paip jangan ceritalah, warna kuning kekuningan. Dah macam warna air sungai dilanda kepala air. Pergi strawberry farm pun kualiti air sama. Apa dah jadi dengan kualiti air di MDCH?
I booked a room with breakfast stated (not the one with set breakfast) but upon checking, the fo said my room is the one with set breakfast instead of buffet so we need to add on rm7 for buffet so total rm21. Sigh! Who's fault is that? Either Trip or God's know who?
The buffet spread this time just so-so and not very appealing. One of the reasons I chose here is because of the variety of buffet breakfast unfortunately not this time around. They took time to topup some food, the food taste so-so (sambal a bit masin, meehoon a bit masin) and not much variety compared to my previous visit. Thankfully the bread pudding is still taste the same (my fav).
No more RO water bottles inside the room. Each floor has coway water filters. So just go outside and fill your kettle or bottles. No more shampoo and bath gel bottles too. Everything is attached on the wall. Pump.. pump and settle. Lol
On a bright side, since it's my birthday and I request for simple happy birthday deco (if any), two staffs came to our room at 4pm with a slice of cake and wish me a happy birthday. Aww so sweet, thank you so much! My kids said the cake were delicious. 😁

The spacious and comfortable rooms, coupled with the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, made our experience truly delightful. Special kudos to restaurant staff who served us during the Christmas Eve dinner and breakfast – their efficiency and professionalism stood out. The food from both restaurants, Dining Room and Jim Thompson, were delightful, contributing to a wonderful stay with my family for Christmas . We’re eagerly looking forward to revisiting the hotel in the future.
